About the role:
As an EC&I Technician, you’ll provide electrical, control and instrumentation support to the plant mainly focussed on planned and unplanned maintenance activities. You’ll also provide some support on modification and replacement projects.
Based in Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. For nearly 25 years the plant has focussed on creating wdf pellets from sewage sludge reducing environmental impacts as well as creating a new fuel source replacing the need to burn fossil fuels.
Day to day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance activities including instrumentation calibrations. You’ll ensure that all work is managed and recorded correctly to maintain compliance, inspiring safe ways of working across the site, setting a high standard of EC&I engineering activity, and supporting in rolling out new processes, systems, and ways of working to your colleagues on site.
You’ll be joining a tight knit, dedicated team based on site, who are also part of a larger group with a wide support network.
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll need to have experience in solving problems and
being a strong communicator to be able to persuade and influence others.
You should be educated to at least ONC level in
Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and should have served a recognised
Apprenticeship.
Specifically, you’ll need plant experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment, including but not restricted to, 3 phase motors and associated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers, motor control centres and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems.
You’ll be able interpret schematic drawings, single line diagrams and PLC ladder logic.
Ideally, you’ll also have process plant experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems including, but not restricted to, systems for the measurement of temperature, pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and ph.

Your role will be instrumental in delivering engineering excellence, upholding safety, and ensuring technical integrity across the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and manage delivery of EC&I engineering and technical activities across complex nuclear projects
Promote cross-functional collaboration to drive quality, innovation, and operational efficiency
Engage with clients and the supply chain, ensuring design clarity and compliance with procurement specifications
Apply appropriate procedures, codes, and standards to all engineering work
Support safety assessments and contribute to process improvements within the design lifecycle
Provide engineering input and decision-making support to the Project Manager
Review, produce, and verify technical deliverables such as calculations, reports, and specifications
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects
A track record of working collaboratively across functions and disciplines
Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Sound technical knowledge and experience in EC&I design and analysis within a highly regulated environment
Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
Chartered or working towards Chartered status is advantageous
Security Requirements
Applicants must be eligible to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.

An opportunity has arisen to work within the Silos PFCS Supporting Projects E&I design team delivering, supporting others delivering and checking design packages to meet safety, functional and business needs.
This is a contract role, Inside IR35 based at Hinton House, Warrington on a hybrid basis 37 hours over 4½ days a week

ESSENTIAL:
Academic Qualification: HND
