Your new company We are working with a leading engineering organisation committed to innovation and sustainability. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team.Your new role As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and validating robust electrical systems that drive a sustainable future. You will work on exciting projects to expand the current product range and bring new products to market.Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical circuit schematics, harnesses, and panel layouts to internal and industry standards.
Create technical documentation including design specifications, work instructions, and parts lists.
Conduct simulations and engineering analyses to verify designs and specify electrical/electronic components.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify technical solutions and achieve a “right first time” approach.
Develop electrical solutions based on customer requirements and system integration needs.
Work with PLC Software Engineers to develop control strategies for powertrain and driveline systems.
Ensure compliance with safety-critical system requirements and electrical design standards.
Support quality assurance through electrical testing methods and system capability checks.
What you’ll need to succeed:
HND or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or relevant experience.
Proficiency in schematic design using industry-recognised software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, EPLAN).
Experience with electrified vehicle powertrain systems and off-road electrical systems design.
Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
Strong knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technical drawing skills and experience drafting to electrical standards.
