This is a diverse and dynamic position requiring flexibility to meet changing business needs. The successful candidate will have a strong process engineering background, significant experience in process safety, and a deep understanding of risk assessment methodologies and functional safety standards, particularly IEC 61511. Experience in LOPA facilitation, SIL determination, SIF design and SIL verification are essential. A recognised functional safety qualification (e.g., TV, Exida etc) is preferred.

Over the last twenty years this business has grown to be one of the UK’s leading principal contractors and have developed a reputation for excellence. Working on road and infrastructure upgrades on the Sizewell C site, this project is estimated to be at least 3 years, and is focussed on the earthworks for road and infrastructure upgrades around the site of Sizewell C. What the Role Will Involve: \* Establishing site control. \* Setting-up GPS base stations on site. \* Topographical surveys using GPS instruments. \* Setting out of complex sites. \* Processing surveys. \* Quantifying stockpiles and running earthworks analysis \* Checking machine control accuracy and completing site QA. \* Diagnosing machine control faults. \* Working alongside a senior site engineer. Hybrid Key Requirements Extensive experience in embedded C development on STM32 (ARM Cortex) using Keil IDE.
Strong expertise in multithreaded RTOS systems, including thread synchronization, and debugging.
Proven ability to analyse, maintain, and optimise existing codebases, with focus on performance and resource efficiency.
Solid understanding of embedded file systems and data transfer.
Experience of conducting code reviews and contributing to design improvements and practical optimisations.
Comfortable working independently, self-directed, and able to demonstrate clear progress. Desirable Skills Experience with CAN, SPI, RS232 communication protocols.
Familiarity with software V&V, Git-based workflows, and Agile/DevOps environments.
