The Opportunity
Our Client; a well-recognised and respected Materials Handling company who are among the world’s largest suppliers of Automated Warehouse and Materials Handling solutions are now actively seeking an experienced Site Execution Quality Engineer on a Contract basis. In this role you will be leading and driving all Quality related matters at a major construction site in Leicestershire, which is in fact one of the largest and most important projects our Client has ever supported! Initially the contract has an expected duration of 6 months, but this will likely see extension beyond this point and is being offered as an opportunity outside of IR35 regulations and will be payable as a day rate.

As their Site Execution Quality Engineer, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and strong understanding of quality and project management to support the business during the Installation, Commissioning and handover phase of the project.

You will demonstrate the ability to be self-reliant, decisive, and capable of independently managing your workload to ensure the customer handover is successful. You will provide quality support to the business by leading root cause analyses (RCAs) and utilising the data from their processes to identify.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

To provide Quality Leadership during the installation, commissioning, ramp up and go live phases of the project being present and visible on site – to include but not limited to:
Facilitate the process of implementation of containment and corrective action when CAPA issues are raised and trigger lessons learned for systemic issues as required holding action owners accountable for swift resolution of issues.
Provide Quality oversight for the I&TP process (Unite and paper checklist process) performing Audits, utilizing Data to understand trends, and identifying actions and lessons learned. Including regular reporting of status with installation and engineering teams.
Drive sub-contractor performance improvements supporting the installation team.
Perform Site Acceptance Test (FAT) of 3rd party products and systems.
Support onboarding of contractors ensuring the quality requirements are known and understood.
Audit the de-snagging (punch list closure) activities performed by installation and asses the data from this process to drive improvement through lessons learned.
Management of workload to ensure that impacts and priorities are properly managed and impact of issues on successful project delivery is limited.
Utilize advanced data analytics to dissect and prioritize issues, applying Pareto analysis to distil trends and guide decision-making.
Conduct root cause analysis sessions to unravel and resolve standard risk and complex issues, setting the stage for systematic quality improvements.
Spearheaded the implementation of corrective and preventive actions derived from RCAs, ensuring sustainable enhancements in quality and performance.
Be the POC for quality for the customer, representing customer interests and perspectives within your project.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering is desirable, however those with an HNC/HND or equivalent relevant Quality Engineering experience will be considered.
You should ideally have qualified for, or already be in possession of a CSCS card.
You will need to be an experienced Quality Engineer who can take ownership of the site Quality activities on a major project with a familiarity of site-based installation activities and commissioning.
You will demonstrate the assertiveness to drive the Quality agendas at the site and lead these activities, providing strong reporting skills in Quality Management.
You should have experience in Materials Handling (MHE) / Automation, together with a background of working in complex project environments, building close relationships with the customer.
Should have strong foundational Project Management experience with the ability to drive corrective actions in a challenging environment.
Should have a comprehensive understanding of quality tools, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, GR&R, Capability Studies, and Inspection Plans.
You will have an established proficiency in quality improvement methodologies such as RCA and 8D.
You will be familiar in writing technical reports and overseeing Quality Audits.It’s great if you also have the following:
Advanced capabilities in MS Office Suite and statistical analysis tools like Minitab.This position is available with immediate effect.
