Production Support Engineer (Java) - Contract - Hybrid/London - £425.00 per day Inside IR35

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Production Support Engineer to work at a leading consultancy client on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex incidents that have been escalated from lower support tiers. You’ll work across application, database, and integration layers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.

Responsibilities included:

• Diagnose and resolve complex incidents escalated to Level 3 support
• Manage and track incidents using ServiceNow
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions
• Troubleshoot across application, database, and integration layers
• Monitor and optimise system performance using tools such as Kibana and Dynatrace
• Develop and maintain RESTful integrations between systems
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and support teams to improve system reliability

Experience required:

• A strong background in technical support, with experience that ideally includes Java for development and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL
• Solid experience working with REST APIs and system integrations
• Proven background in 3rd Line/Level 3 Support or Application Support Engineering
• Experience working within ITSM frameworks (ideally using ServiceNow)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Kibana would be desirable
• Experience with Dynatrace would be desirable
• Familiarity with BPMN or process modelling
• Exposure to distributed systems or microservices architectures
• Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
