What is the role?

As a Senior Project Engineer (Major Projects) at London Gatwick, you’ll be instrumental in leading the design of strategically important, major building projects, typically exceeding £100 million in value. You won’t just be managing significant multi-discipline projects; you’ll be shaping the future of the world’s most efficient single runway airport. You’ll work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders up to board level and external design consultants, making sure everything runs smoothly, keeping the project on track, and within the budget.

What will you do?

  • Reporting to the Design Manager, you will play a key role in the team, responsible for owning the end-to-end design process from the start of the project to its completion. This includes overseeing smaller projects as required
  • Developing project scope to meet the business needs, along with delivering effective design management on individual projects.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects
  • Seeking cost effective design solutions and managing external design consultants
  • Providing technical input to any design changes through the lifecycle of the project
  • Leading any assigned Design Management resources and fulfil a supervisory role for Project Engineers within the broader programme team
