Your Role

You will play a key role in ensuring maximum uptime of critical production equipment and site services through both reactive and planned maintenance activities for a global leader in aerospace actuation systems. You will conduct electrical fault-finding, diagnosis, repairs, and modifications to high-tech machinery and equipment.

  • Maintain and repair hydraulic test systems, including control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, National Instruments) and associated instrumentation such as load cells, torque transducers, and pressure transducers.
  • Perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance on CNC equipment, including controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Okuma, and Mitsubishi.
  • Support maintenance of process equipment, including Heat Treatment and Plating facilities.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Impact Recruitment are supporting a well-established and highly innovative engineering and manufacturing business in their search for a Product Development Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys full lifecycle involvement - from concept design through to production and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on, varied role where you will play a key part in developing new products, improving existing designs, and ensuring smooth transition into manufacturing.

The Role

You will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to production, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end product development, including design, prototyping, testing, and production implementation
  • Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
  • Supporting validation and verification activities to ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop products to specification
  • Designing and developing jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids to improve production efficiency
  • Providing technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshooting issues on the shop floor
  • Driving continuous improvement across product design and production processes
  • Occasional UK and international travel as required

About You

We are keen to speak with proactive, solutions-focused engineers who thrive in a hands-on environment.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in product design and development within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards and product development processes
  • Proficiency in CAD software (ideally Autodesk Inventor)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • A practical mindset with the ability to balance design and production requirements

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Technical Lead / Solution Engineer with deep Salesforce expertise to join a global technology function delivering enterprise-scale solutions across Distribution and Underwriting.

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain all hospital electrical systems to ensure continuous, safe, and compliant operation.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on LV/HV systems, generators, UPS, emergency lighting, and critical power systems.
  • Respond promptly to electrical faults, breakdowns, and emergency call-outs, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical services.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, HTM (Health Technical Memoranda), HSG, and current IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and electrical control systems, identifying and rectifying issues proactively.
  • Support the operation and testing of standby power systems, including generators and uninterruptible power supplies.
  • Complete accurate maintenance records, risk assessments, permits to work, and shift handover reports.
  • Act as the on-site electrical duty engineer during shifts, escalating critical issues appropriately.
  • Work closely with clinical staff, estates teams, and external contractors to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with hospital infection control, health & safety, and safe systems of work.
  • Participate in shift rotation, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
  • Assist with electrical isolations, system upgrades, and minor project works.
