We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (NetDevOps) for our public sector client based in Newcastle on an initial 11-month contract paying up to £650 per day inside IR35.

This role offers hybrid working with approximately 3 days per week on-site attendance expected.

The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be a hands-on engineer with a genuine NetDevOps mindset. You will need proven experience working with the following:

  • Designing and implementing complex enterprise network infrastructure across data centre, hybrid and cloud environments
  • OSPF and BGP environments, with strong understanding of enterprise and cloud network patterns
  • Palo Alto firewalls across data centre and cloud, including Zero Trust and secure network design principles
  • Data centre technologies including VXLAN, EVPN, VRF segmentation and multi-site fabrics, with experience of vendors such as Arista
  • Load balancing technologies including F5 BIG-IP (LTM, APM, ASM)
  • Network automation using Python, Ansible or similar tooling, with an Infrastructure as Code mindset
  • CI/CD exposure including GitLab and version control practices applied to network engineering
  • Hybrid cloud connectivity across at least one major cloud provider such as Azure, AWS or OCI

Experience with SD-WAN, Aruba Central or ClearPass, or modernising legacy network environments would be beneficial.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of a dedicated migration workstream, leading end-to-end delivery across planning, execution, and governance.
