About the people you will be supporting:

We are a group of people with learning disabilities, that require high levels of support. We have lived together for a number of years. We enjoy spending time together but also have individual interests, to which we need support to be able to take part in

We support people that can demonstrate behaviours that can be considered challenging.

The majority of the people we support need a high level of support with regard to personal care although moving and handling needs are minimal.

Please note that you must be a driver to be considered for this role.

Shift Patterns:

This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:00/8:00 am to 2:00/3:00pm and 2:00/3:00 pm to 9:00/10:00pm.

Role Responsibility

Daily support we need from you:

  • Assisting with our personal care needs
  • To prepare food for us or with our involvement when we want
  • Support us with our food and drinks
  • Manual handling
  • Supporting us with medication including creams and lotions
  • Ensuring our record keeping is maintained to the highest standard, this will include finance records as these will be audited
  • Help us to manage our money safely
  • To help us keep our home clean and tidy
  • Ensuring our health and safety is maintained
  • Making sure we have an interesting and varied day
  • Liaising with the Landlord regarding our tenancies and any repairs.
The Ideal Candidate

Whilst knowledge of our learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it is not essential; what is essential is that you are:

  • Passionate, caring and enthusiastic
  • Flexible, patient and non-judgemental
  • A great team player with lots of energy
  • Able to demonstrate good communication skills, including understanding non-verbal communication
  • Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed

All Supervisor Plus Accountabilities

  • Be the operational hands on person, ensuring that team are working effectively on all key tasks and objectives. This will vary based on the department you are based.

  • Responsibility for CAFF audits in accommodation
  • Responsibility for other departmental audits based on the area based e.g. sales targets/ perfect serve etc.

About Me

Rix House is a large Residential Care Home that provides 24hr person centred support to 10 individuals with physical and Learning Disabilities.

We endeavour to create positive family relationships offering a good circle of support. There is a strong focus on supporting individuals’ lives in a person centred way which includes various activities in the home and in the community, shopping, managing own budgets, going on holiday and cooking. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible.

Training and Development

We offer training to all those who want to develop their skills and competencies not just in the care sector but in other areas too. What will I be doing?

Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn’t essential. What is essential is that you are:

  • a great team player with lots of energy
  • able to demonstrate good communication skills
  • able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed
  • transferable experience of helping people to manage anxiety

Our role

The role of Senior Commercial Administrator will see you supervising a small team, working on a high-volume repair and maintenance water utilities contract in the North West. You will excel at maximising cost efficiencies with a firm focus on maintaining high standards and quality. You will supervise selected financial aspects of the project; overseeing selected commercial & contractual matters as instructed by the commercial manager. You will assist with delivering desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen. Whilst organising and overseeing day-to-day functions of the commercial team.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will display proficient use of Microsoft excel
  • You will be commercially responsible for managing a high volume of low value work orders, ensuring timely commercial completion consistent with the contract schedule of rates
  • You will assist with the production of monthly reporting documents and client applications
  • Manage and monitor project costs including weekly P&L reporting
  • Track the progress and cash flow forecast information
  • Produce and review commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs) and Project Finance Reports
  • Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries and assessment of quotations
  • Place subcontract orders, agreement and certification of subcontract valuations, invoice, subcontract payments and final account agreements
  • Manage and track project changes, variations and/or notices

  • Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Commercial & Financial Support: Proven experience in invoicing, reconciliation, cost management, and credit control.
  • Contract Management: Experience in managing contract renewals, maintaining registers, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Technical: Advanced MS Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical: Strong ability to analyze data, perform margin analysis, and manage spreadsheets.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for liaising with both internal stakeholders (project managers) and external clients.
  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and strong organizational skills.

  • Mixed role with delivery driving a 3.5 Tonne Van
  • Dealing with customer enquiries/orders via email and over the phone and processing their orders
  • Speaking to suppliers to source and get quotes on cost for parts, materials and special order items for customers
  • Working within the warehouse picking/packing goods
  • Assisting the team in all areas of the branch including the trade counter and where needed to ensure customer requirements are met

This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 17:00pm, with one Saturday a month working 8:00am - 12:00pm, paid as overtime.

  • Industry or merchant experience is advantageous
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Proven experience in sales or customer service role
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in customer interactions.
  • PC Literacy is key
