Responsibilities:

  • Having the ability to liaise with both customers and colleagues to ensure YPS maintains

Required skills:
The minimum skills and qualifications required for this role include:

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification.
  • Field engineering experience is essential.
  • PLC interrogation experience is essential.
  • In particular Siemens S7/TIA & OMRON
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Polite telephone manner.
  • Self-Motivation with the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.

Location and Package
Ideally the successful candidate would live no more than one hour from our HQ in Brighouse
although this is not set in stone dependent on the right candidate. Skill set is more important.

  • Salary Range£40,000 £50,000 dependent upon experience and skill set. This is
    a salaried position with a companywide annual discretional bonus scheme.
  • Guaranteed annual review.
  • Contributory pension scheme currently to 3% of salary.
  • 20 days annual leave plus all bank holidays (8) and an annual Christmas shutdown

The Role:

  • Hands-on experience with PLC fault-finding, hydraulic systems, welding/flame cutting, and safe operation of machinery, including compliance with regulations.
  • Relevant lifting and access equipment certifications (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, slinging).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to safety, quality, and compliance.

Shillito Group are working with a well-established, highly regulated manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to take ownership of quality performance across the site.

This is a hands on, shop floor-focused role, suited to someone who has managed quality end to end, not just supported it. You will play a key role in driving improvements, strengthening process capability, and ensuring robust quality standards across production.

The Role

  • Maintain a strong shop floor presence, ensuring quality is controlled at source
  • Own and lead root cause investigations (8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC) through to resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement across scrap, rework, and process capability
  • Analyse manufacturing data to identify trends, variation, and improvement opportunities
  • Apply statistical tools (SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA) to improve process control
  • Support and lead validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) where required
  • Take responsibility for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System
  • Lead and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
  • Work cross-functionally with production and engineering to implement sustainable improvements
  • Develop and improve SOPs, processes, and quality documentation
  • Support customer issue resolution and improve overall quality performance
