The Role

About the Role:
We are partnering on a major UK transmission infrastructure project in North Wales and seeking an experienced TP141 Lead Commissioning Engineer for remote-end commissioning on a live National Grid scheme. This is a critical role involving hands-on responsibility for remote switching, testing, and energisation activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of transmission assets.
You will work closely with National Grid control and site teams to coordinate protection and control interface activities, ensuring compliance with all technical and safety standards throughout the commissioning phase.
Key Responsibilities:

Liaise effectively with National Grid control room and site personnel to facilitate smooth commissioning processes

Essential Requirements:

Valid TP141 Authorisation

Proven experience in remote-end commissioning on National Grid Transmission Assets

Strong understanding of protection and control systems within power transmission environments

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during 10-hour working days

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with control teams and site engineers

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be working within a live MOD facility. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead the BIM team and champion digital construction best practices across the project.
Support the development, management and control of the project BIM brief, programme and deliverables.

Coordination & Model Management

Implement and uphold ISO 19650 Parts 1–5.
Review and authorise information models for sharing.
Assurance, Risk & Compliance
Oversee BIM gateway assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage and mitigate design risks using federation and clash detection tools.
Contribute to high safety and environmental standards aligned with project policies.
Training, Support & Continuous Improvement
Identify training needs and deliver BIM and digital construction training across teams.

What We’re Looking For
