£60000 - £75000 + Pension, Healthcare
Hampshire
Ref: 25160
An innovative marine engineering business at the cutting edge of electrification and foiling technology is looking to hire two Senior Software Control Engineers to join a highly specialised team working on some of the most advanced vessels in the world.
This is a rare opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of complex control systems — from early requirements capture through to commissioning and customer handover — in a genuinely small, expert team.
Senior Software Controls Engineer - The Role:
You’ll be working on next-generation fully foiling, electric vessels, including a flagship high-performance project operating at the very top end of the market. The work blends reuse of proven software with new concept development, giving real technical depth rather than maintenance-only work.
This role suits engineers who want to see the whole system, not just one repeated subsystem.

Owning the process end-to-end: requirements capture → customer engagement → development → commissioning → documentation → handover
Developing and optimising control algorithms using MATLAB / Simulink
Implementing control logic in C
Specifying and integrating sensors, actuators, and embedded systems
Working closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
Supporting sea trials, commissioning, and real-world testing with technical support/troubleshooting
Senior Software Controls Engineer - The Person:
BEng/MEng with Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or related field
Strong background of software control systems engineering
Proven experience working on complete systems or vehicles, not just isolated components
(automotive, marine, aerospace, special vehicles, advanced R&D environments all relevant)
Excellent MATLAB / Simulink capability
Solid C programming experience
Familiarity with system analysis, modelling & simulation techniques
Comfortable dealing directly with customers and stakeholders
Backgrounds involving full lifecycle delivery — concept to deployment — are key.

Technical Group Engineering Manager - Cloud Security Platform
Hybrid Role- 3 days in Belfast office required - Distributed Systems - Northern Ireland
We’re proud to be working exclusively with a high-growth cloud security company that established its Northern Ireland engineering hub less than two years ago. Since launching locally, the team has grown rapidly and is now entering a major scale-up phase following significant investment earlier this year.
As part of ambitious growth plans through 2026 and beyond, we’re hiring a Group Engineering Manager to lead multiple backend and infrastructure engineering teams working on the core cloud security platform.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior technical leadership role in a fast-scaling global engineering organisation, while helping shape the future of a strategically important Belfast engineering hub.
The Opportunity
In this role, you’ll lead teams solving technically complex, real-world problems every day building innovative new capabilities while continuously improving and scaling existing systems.
You’ll work closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and platform specialists to deliver high-scale distributed systems operating across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
The organisation operates in a modern, cloud-native environment and encourages strong engineering ownership. Teams are responsible for systems end-to-end from architecture and development through to deployment, observability, and ongoing optimisation in production.
The platform integrates deeply with the major cloud providers and leverages technologies such as:
Golang
Java
Kubernetes
Docker
eBPF
Large-scale distributed systems
This is not a traditional management role it’s a hands-on technical leadership position, where you’ll guide engineering teams solving meaningful problems that directly impact global customers.
The Role
As Group Engineering Manager, you will:
Lead and grow multiple backend and infrastructure engineering teams
Help define and deliver the technical roadmap for key platform services
Support engineers and engineering managers through mentoring, coaching, and career development
Drive architectural decisions across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
Ensure high engineering standards around reliability, performance, and scalability
Partner closely with product and platform teams to deliver high-impact features
Support incident response, operational excellence, and service reliability
Help scale the engineering organisation while maintaining a strong technical culture
You will play a key role in building systems that operate in highly dynamic, large-scale production environments.
About the Company
This is a modern cloud security company focused on protecting customer infrastructure through deep runtime visibility and contextual system insights.
Unlike traditional security tooling, the platform uses runtime data and low-level system instrumentation to identify real threats, prioritise risks, and automate responses across complex cloud environments.
Despite being relatively new locally, the business is already:
Well-funded
Commercially proven
Scaling globally
Backed by significant investment
This is a rare opportunity to join early in the growth journey, while benefiting from strong financial backing and clear product-market fit.
Technology Environment
You’ll be working with a genuinely modern stack including:
Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure
Languages: Golang, Java, Python
Platform: Kubernetes, Docker, eBPF
Data & Messaging: Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Redis, TimescaleDB, RabbitMQ
Architecture: Microservices, distributed systems
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience leading engineering teams or engineering managers
Strong background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
Experience building or scaling systems in cloud-native environments
Strong programming background (Golang, Java, Python, or similar)
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience operating large-scale production systems
Strong technical leadership and mentoring ability
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical guidance
Nice to have:
Experience working on cloud security platforms
Strong Linux systems knowledge
Experience with observability, reliability engineering, or performance optimisation
Experience scaling engineering teams during rapid growth
What It’s Like to Work Here
This is a high-trust, collaborative engineering culture. The Site Lead describes the team “like a band - everyone plays their part.”
You’ll work alongside some of the strongest engineers in the local market in an environment where:
Engineering leaders remain technically engaged
Teams own problems, not just tasks
Technical excellence is valued
Engineers are trusted to make decisions
There is ambition - but also balance
Salary & Package
Base salary up to £150k
Equity
Private healthcare
Flexible / hybrid working
High-autonomy engineering culture
This is an opportunity to make a real leadership impact during a period of major growth, while helping build one of the most technically ambitious engineering teams in the region.
