Telent are now looking for a SCIDA Site Engineer in the Southern part of England due to growth. As a SCIDA Field Engineer, you’ll work at the heart of Defence ICT assurance, supporting the RAF and wider MOD estate by ensuring that ICT systems are designed, installed and maintained to the highest security, safety and engineering standards.

This role sits within the SCIDA (Site Coordinating Installation Design Authority) programme - a mandated MOD function responsible for assuring the design, installation and compliance of ICT infrastructure across Defence environments. The Role:

As a SCIDA Field Engineer, you will deliver SCIDA services, conduct engineering assurance, and provide specialist guidance across allocated sites across Cornwall and St. Mawgan locations. SCIDA Field Engineer - What You’ll Do:

SCIDA Service Delivery

  • Serve as the point of contact for allocated sites, reporting to the Area Manager
  • Deliver SCIDA services in accordance with Air SCIDA Engineering Instructions and JSP 453
  • Attend siting boards, surveys and RAF/MOD meetings to support project delivery
  • Conduct initial design reviews and identify compliance risks
  • Perform post-installation inspections and coordinate resolution of issues

The Role of the Electrical Controls & Automation Engineer:

Due to significant investment and automation activities on a large, world-class manufacturing site, my client are in search for a PLC-biased Electrical Controls & automation Engineer to be based at the Leeds site as the first line automation support.
The electrical and controls automation engineer will be utilising their expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and maintenance to optimize manufacturing processes, all whilst be hands on to provide emergency maintenance support as and when required. You will lead process improvements by collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions and enhance plant performance.

Key Responsibilities of Electrical Controls & Automation Engineer:

  • Work with Programmable systems including HMI, SCADA, Servo Drives, IX developer
  • Develop and implement projects to drive improvement in manufacturing availability
  • New installations, including the programming of software
  • Work with management team to contribute to key improvement projects
  • Proactive in detecting, reporting, diagnosing and predicting potential or existing software and electronic issues on all equipment
