Were looking for a Senior Engineer - Materials & Processes with a strong non-metallic materials engineering background, to join our materials and test team to support the production and development of next generation composite aero structures, ice protection and transparency products. The role will be based in the Materials, Coatings and Test (MCT) team within the wider Engineering and Technology department and report to the Functional Team Leader.

The role as a Senior Engineer - Materials & Processes will support the business and engineering team, with non polymer materials science and processing knowledge and guidance. The role will provide a deep understanding of the interactions between processing parameters and material properties of Acrylics, Polycarbonates and adhesives, being able to guide new technology test plans and current production deviations.

There will be occasional travel, national and international, required to support customer visits and other GKN sites. You will also support the work of the business to establish safe working practices and necessary level of documentation. You will be involved with projects from the planning / assembly / instrumentation / commissioning phase though to successfully performing and reporting the test. As part of AWE’s Nucleonic Instrumentation Service (NIS) Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in the logistics section which underpins the delivery of the capability. You will enjoy a flexible and wide-ranging role that will include core tasks of receipt, despatch and issue of radiation detection monitoring equipment (RDME), as well as other opportunities.

The NIS capability provides through-life support for the MOD’s suite of RDME. This is delivered via 3 core functions: Logistics, Calibration & Repair, operating three dose-rate calibration rooms, a contamination calibration lab and a dynamic test facility, processing approximately 8,000 instruments through the facility every year. The facility is UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. The team also provides expert technical advice and evaluation, supports high profile projects, and responds to high priority demands to meet the needs of defence and industry.

Who are we looking for?

We do need you to have the following:

  • Experience working in a team - supporting routine logistics operations or similar environment. (Issuing equipment, processing short‑notice requirements, and resolving basic enquiries)
  • Ability to accurately receipt, verify, and record a variety of different assets. (Including checking consignments against paperwork and booking items onto a database)
  • Competence in handling, storing, and dispatching equipment. (Packaging, labelling, allocating storage locations, and preparing consignments)
  • Ability to conduct routine equipment checks and basic testing. (Functionality checks and using defined checklists)

Duties of a Maintenance Engineer at Refresco:

About the Job:
Unity5 (formerly Chipside LTD) is a medium sized company working with over 180 local governments. We are now have a weekend vacancy, working both Saturday and Sunday to join our small friendly contact centre team. In this role you will be providing first line assistance to our local authority customers either by phone, taking inbound calls or responding to emails. You will be responsible for processing payments and handling queries relating to cashless parking and Digital permits system on behalf of local authorities.

This role will be based in our Brinkworth office near Swindon.

We work 8am-4 pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.

Who We re Looking For:
Candidates with a can do attitude, a good team player, someone who is a confident
communicator and looking to take on a new challenge in an established business. A Customer Service background is desired but not essential.
As one of our Customer Service Advisors you re main role will be to assist our customers with any questions they may have or obtaining permits and learning how to use the system.

What you’ll be doing:
Handling a range of inbound calls, you ll play a pivotal role when it comes to supporting our customers. We handle anything from permitted parking to cashless parking, you ll be assisting our customers via telephone and email correspondence ensuring the highest level of customer service and making sure the customers receive the desired outcome.

What training will there be:
No experience is necessary, however experience in a busy and changeable office environment would be advantageous. All training will be given regarding our bespoke systems and service level requirements. We do understand that each person learns differently so we take out time with training, although some of the role is learned on the job .
