What you’ll need to succeed

You will have strong knowledge and understanding of ML/Data Science concepts, processes, statistical modelling, data and model pipelining and ML algorithms. You will also have commercial experience in delivering customer-facing products to the market that utilise computer vision and machine learning.

Ideally, you will also have experience with continuous retraining tools in CI/CD processes for object detection, classification and tracking within computer vision pipelines. You will also be open to learning new technologies, including web technologies, to help integrate AI and data visualisation capabilities into our existing platform.

The opportunity:
The MBDA IM GenAI delivery Office department is looking for an experienced data engineer able to evaluate design, deploy, improve and support MBDA data sets.

You will ensure MBDA data pipelines are designed to be resilient, secure and responsive. You will use your data engineering expertise to collaborate with different internal customers regarding their data, ensuring they are optimised and secured for their needs.

You will provide your knowledge in data management and data quality to guarantee compliance to MBDA data governance. A key part of this role is keeping up to date with new technology, where you will provide insight on our technology roadmap and deliver cutting edge solutions to our internal customers.

  • SQL technologies skills (e.g. MS SQL, Oracle )
  • noSQL technologies skills (e.g. MongoDB, InfluxDB, Neo4J )
  • Data exchange and processing skills (e.g. ETL, ESB, API )
  • Development (e.g. Python) skills
  • Big data technologies knowledge (e.g. Hadoop stack)
  • Knowledge in NLP (Natural Language Processing)
  • Knowledge in OCR (Object Character Recognition)
  • Knowledge in Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) would be advantageous
  • Experience in containerisation technologies (e.g. Docker) would be advantageous

Principal Data Architect (Contract)

We are recruiting for an experienced Principal Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms for a large, complex organisation. This is a hands-on architecture role with real ownership across data strategy, platform design, governance and delivery.

You will define end-to-end data architecture for high-impact programmes, working across cloud data platforms, analytics, and advanced data use cases. The role covers solution architecture, data modelling, integration patterns, security, governance and cost optimisation, while partnering closely with senior technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and define enterprise data architecture across large-scale initiatives
  • Design logical and physical data models and platform architectures
