About the role

What you’ll do
Build and operate cloud-native services on AWS using microservices and event-driven architecture Deliver independently deployable features with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and performance Contribute to code, reviews, and team discussions to maintain high engineering standards Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring, and production support, with out-of-hours participation where required Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code Work on systems supporting video ingest, encoding, metadata, and content distribution workflows Use observability and metrics to identify issues and improve system performance Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions What you’ll bring
Strong backend engineering experience with Python preferred, and the ability to work across or pick up other languages such as Java or C# Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures, with experience in video, encoding, or broadcast workflows Hands-on experience building and operating services on AWS Strong experience designing and delivering APIs and microservices Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production support Ability to debug and resolve issues in production environments A pragmatic mindset with the ability to deliver value while maintaining quality Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team Team overview

The Team
We are looking for a CISO to take full ownership of Information Security and Identity & Access Management at Man Group. This is a leadership role that is as much about driving change across the firm as it is about running the security function. They will set standards, influence behaviour, embed security into business processes, and work with departments across the organisation to raise the bar on how Man Group manages risk.
A Deputy CISO will own day-to-day security operations and policy, allowing the CISO to focus on identity transformation, standards, governance, and driving security culture firm-wide.
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, the CISO will be responsible for overseeing Identity and Access Management (IAM) Programme, IAM BAU, and Information Security.

The Principal Engineer will provide senior technical leadership for a complex mainframe modernisation programme characterised by a large case load, high throughput, and significant scalability and resilience requirements.
