About Bellwade
Bellwade builds mission-critical SaaS solutions for the aviation / search & rescue sector. Their flagship product, iSAR, is used by over 50,000 flight crew and SAR volunteers globally to monitor assets, personnel, and mission status in real time.
As a core member of Bellwade’s engineering team, you’ll help expand and evolve this platform, ensuring it remains robust, secure, and feature-rich.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain PHP backend services and APIs for iSAR and related modules
Build and enhance front-end features using HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and JavaScript
Integrate with database (e.g. MySQL) and external systems (APIs, telemetry)
Collaborate with design, operations, and product teams to deliver new features
Refactor and optimise existing code for performance, scalability, and security
Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure high code quality
Monitor production systems, debug issues, and support deployments
Required Skills & Experience
Strong PHP experience (object-oriented, modern practices)
Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery
Solid foundation in JavaScript, DOM manipulation, AJAX
Experience with relational databases and SQL (e.g. MySQL)
Comfortable with REST APIs, JSON, and integration patterns
Experience with Git and version control workflows
Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code
Strong debugging skills and ability to work in a remote, autonomous setting
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, etc.)
Experience working in high-availability, real-time systems
Knowledge of aviation / geospatial / tracking domain
