An advanced HPC R&D firm, looking to expand the UK compiler team. Most of the team are ex-Big-Tech, ex-FAANG or ex-Chip firms. They joined because they get more flexibility and have more challenging/interesting work to do as the team is significantly smaller, with highly technical leadership. If you want to work alongside some of the brightest, most enthusiastic people in the industry, this may be worth exploring.
Role:
Senior Software Engineer position with an emphasis on AI Compiler development. You will be a significant hire and will own much of the development of a cutting-edge compiler development project. Significant hires have already been made in the team to support this role.
Mostly LLVM based, it is important you also have experience working with GPUs to an extent.
About you:
- 6 years+ as a compiler engineer
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience with LLVM, MLIR, Triton or other compilers
- Experience with GPU architectures

- Design and implement scalable APIs and backend services, primarily in Scala, to integrate ML models into production systems and deliver personalised experiences.
- Real time data processing and gRPC microservices (Typelevel stack).
- Take end-to-end ownership of services, from development to production operations
- Optimising the performance of the application in the cloud environments
- Creating/improving automated pipelines that support our Continuous Delivery process
- Build, scale and maintain large scale cloud-based services
- Work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Refining the team processes to continuously integrate and working towards a continuously deliverable application.
- Championing best practices to develop clean, resilient code that performs at serious scale.
- Coaching and providing feedback to fellow developers.
What you’ll bring
- Strong software engineering skills with experience in Scala, ideally the typelevel stack (bonus if you have exposure to Golang and Python).
- Interest in machine learning, personalisation systems and cloud technology - even if you haven’t worked extensively in ML before.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade APIs and backend services, including responsibility for reliability, performance, and on-call support.

About the role
At Electrify, we’re committed to putting data and technology at the heart of our decision making - that’s why we’re seeking an Applied AI Engineer to work directly with some of the most exciting creators and channels on YouTube.
Reporting directly to the Director of Data and Technology, you’ll be responsible for building agentic workflows and data pipelines to optimise our creators’ performance and growth.
What your first 6 months may look like:
Launch an internal agentic tool aimed at improving efficiency and quality.
Improve the speed and reliability of our data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and ship production-grade agentic workflows in Python (ideally using LangGraph).
Support CI/CD and infra for AI services (ideally using Docker, Cloud Run & GitHub Actions).
Optimise the cost and performance of AI services.
Run experiments (A/B testing, user studies) on AI services, analyse impact and feed insights back into the roadmap.
Uphold code quality (typing, tests, linting), lead reviews and mentor teammates on best practices.
Document playbooks and create reusable components to speed up feature integration across teams.
Contribute to the development, testing and maintenance of fast, reliable data pipelines when required.
Skills and experience
BSc in a STEM subject.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an AI/ML/Data Engineer.
Experience in applying LLMs and developing, testing and deploying agentic systems in Python (ideally LangGraph)
Deep knowledge of Python and relevant libraries (LangChain, LangGraph, FastAPI, Pydantic, etc)
Experience in designing, building, testing, deploying and maintaining data pipelines (ideally using Airflow/Cloud Composer)
Experience in deploying DevOps processes (Github, Docker, CI/CD in GitHub Actions, deploying in GCP)
Experience working with GCP (especially Cloud Run)
English fluency & strong communication skills (especially converting technical information to a non-technical audience)
Desirable
MSc in a STEM subject
Developing/deploying/testing RAG systems
Experience in the digital content or media sector (ideally YouTube).
Experience mentoring junior team members
