Job Description

As Senior Cabling Engineer you will be responsible for:

Installation, preparation, splicing and testing of singlemode and multimode optic fibre.

Installation, termination and testing of category 6, UTP and STP coaxial, multi-core voice cables

Installation of cable containment, PVC and Galvanized

Survey all installations prior to work commencement; ensure and confirm that the work instructions include appropriate equipment and match customer requirements

Communicate with Service Desk/IT/Sales Support to clarify in case there is insufficient information or mismatch of details was identified

Add, Moves and Changes –

Perform cable moves and changes to existing systems as required following the instructions and best industry standards

Ensure that all Add/Moves/Changes (A/M/C) are approved, correctly recorded, labelled and reported to the line manager and Sales Support team

Testing

Test and label each installation complying with industry standards.

Ensure that team members are following correct testing methods and procedures at any time, advise where necessary to ensure consistency across the team

Monitor and report test equipment condition, ensure proper storage and maintenance Cable Management

Take responsibility for day to day cable management within the risers and cable routes including the supervision and advisory to the customers and cabling contractors on correct and safe usage of infrastructure

Work closely with team members to improve and implement methods of reducing cable wastage and to ensure that correct materials are used at all times (i.e. correct cable length)

Monitor the quality of work during and after installations

Environment Manager – Contract Role

Location: Wokingham (office‑based, 3+ days per week)

Contract: 6 months initially

Day Rate: £420/day (Inside IR35)

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Environment Manager to oversee all non‑production environments (DEV, QA, SIT, UAT, Pre‑Prod) and ensure their stability, availability, and readiness for development, testing, and release activities.

Key Responsibilities

Environment Planning & Coordination

* Own the full environment roadmap across development and test stages.

* Coordinate provisioning, refreshes, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.

* Work with PMs, Release/Test Leads, and Architects to plan environment usage.

* Ensure environments are ready for sprints and release milestones.

Environment Configuration & Management

* Maintain configuration integrity and environment baselines.

* Manage application versions, APIs, integrations, and middleware.

* Oversee access control and secure data handling in SC‑eligible environments.

* Monitor stability, uptime, and resolve issues proactively.

Issue Resolution

* Act as the main contact for environment‑related issues.

* Troubleshoot failures, deployment issues, data mismatches, and connectivity problems.

* Work closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, Network, Database, and App teams.

Governance & Compliance

* Ensure all changes follow ITIL‑aligned processes.

* Maintain documentation, diagrams, version matrices, and access logs.

* Support audits and compliance activities.

Continuous Improvement

* Identify opportunities for automation and improved monitoring.

* Standardise configuration, naming conventions, and patching schedules.

Skills & Experience

Technical

* 5–8 years managing enterprise non‑production/test environments.

* Good SQL, networking, cloud and on‑prem environment knowledge.

They are seeking a Digital Infrastructure Engineer to join the Delivery Director’s team in a hands-on technical capacity. This isn’t a standard “behind-the-desk” IT role. You will be the technical heartbeat of a project deploying 10,000+ portrait screens, immersive LED ticket halls, and high-tech LED escalator ribbons across London’s underground transport network.

The role

Heavily project focused, you’ll be providing technical support & engineering as part of the delivery teams efforts to roll out digital signage, audio visual & network infrastructure upgrades across London sites
It is expectated that this role will require regular out-of-hours working driven by project and operational requirements, involve overnight work alongside installation crews on the London Underground network. You will be expected to take technical responsibility during these works, ensuring installations are completed safely, correctly and to standard

Ideal experience

• Network & OS: 3+ years with DNS, DHCP, Windows Server, Cisco, and PowerShell. You should also have at least a year of Linux (Ubuntu) experience.
• Remote Tools: Experience with remote management (VNC/Microsoft Terminal Services) and ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Freshdesk.
