Senior Designer Engineer - Fire & Life Safety Systems

A market-leading engineering services business is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to take ownership of complex, high-risk life safety projects from concept through to delivery.

This is not a drafting role. This is a lead-from-the-front design position for someone who understands that great design is not about drawings alone - it’s about risk, compliance, constructability, and protecting people in critical environments.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands British Standards, approvals, third-party certification and design risk
  • Can think three steps ahead of site, commissioning, and maintenance teams
  • Is commercially aware - design decisions affect cost, programme and margin
  • Communicates with authority, not noise

This role suits a professional who:

  • Is precise, disciplined and unflappable
  • Doesn’t need supervision to do the right thing
  • Takes pride in getting it right the first time
  • Wants influence, not just responsibility

Maybe you’ve completed a graduate scheme but the department you’ve been assigned to doesn’t excite you? Or perhaps you just need a change? This agile company is looking for top hardware and electronics talent. They develop hardware and software systems for the defence community, typically within the radio communications, high-speed data processing and cyber security arenas.
