Have a sound grasp of the engine product development cycle, and expertise in engine system and component specification, design, development and sign-off (using relevant tools).

5+ years previous experience of full system design for diesel or gasoline engines is essential.

Practical understanding of ICE operating principles (e.g. mechanical/electromechanical design, thermodynamics, and tribology).

Demonstratable experience in use of commercially available 2D drawing and 3D Modelling packages with knowledge of mechanical engineering GD&T and manufacturing processes.

Understanding of the role of emissions performance relating to ICE.

Knowledge and experience in Model-Based-System-Engineering is preferred.

Previous experience of 1D simulation (in AMEsim or similar) is advantageous, but not required.

Experienced supplier interactions and management, with good commercial awareness.

Understand and contribute to the management of the project.

Be able to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be the designer for specific RF electronics designs. Interfaces to various stakeholders, such as the Datalink core team, Design Authority and other functional entities will need to be managed effectively to ensure the designs are delivered in a timely manner and will integrate to the other parts of the system

Responsibilities:
The role is substantially technical and hand on testing and proving is essential. Collaborative working with other functions of MBDA, in particular Software & Firmware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production and Future Systems.

Skillset/experience required:
Individuals will be able to demonstrate a significant number of the following attributes:
* Proven relevant RF electronics design experience (likely to be the design of 3 or 4 complex RF electronic items using the latest technologies), preferably for harsh environments (EMC, Vibration, thermal).
* Can guide the design implementation of RF Electronics Receiver / Transmit amplifier chains, filters and frequency synthesisers over the 30Mhz to 30GHz range. Software Defined Radios of good advantage.
* Knowledge and proven best practice design of power supplies and digital interfaces for use in a RF product.
* Proven ability to manage the development and delivery of RF electronic equipment including associated technologies through all stages of the development process
* Ideally degree qualified
* Planning and organisation skills with a record of delivering to time and cost
* Strong negotiating and influencing skills;
* Self-starter with drive, energy and enthusiasm and a clear focus on delivery and results.

Summary

We are looking for an Senior Design Engineer within the lift industry experience.Ideally based anywhere in the UK (except Northern Ireland), however it will require regular travel to meet with the team based in Sunbury. A company vehicle may be provided.

You will be responsible for, all design aspects of the lift installation including drawing production, customer liaison, installation teams liaison, design standards and personally delivers final Builders Working drawings. Provides responsive internal and on site design support and training.

Other duties include:

  • Produces Builders Works, Engineering, Lift finishes drawings and sketches in accordance with company standards, best practise, legislation, H&S guidelines and the Lifts Regulations.
  • Understands, interprets and integrates Architectural and technical building drawings and information, and incorporates within a co-ordinated working design.
  • Produces designs with an awareness of timescales and deadlines in respect of customer requirements. Records design process on company software systems
  • Assists in producing Operating and Maintenance Manuals, ‘as fitted’ information and regularly checks project completion schedules to ensure the O&M manuals are issued to customers in a timely manner in accordance with company practises.
  • Has responsibility for ensuring the customer fully understands the builders work drawings and prepares the site to agreed drawings and attendances. Checks the site for compliance and advises any anomalies/proposals in writing to the customer. Completes site surveys to ensure site is prepared as per agreed drawings and schedules and advises customer on areas of non-compliance.
  • Attends design meetings where required to liaise with the customer, Architects, project designers.
  • Responsible for attaining customer approval of builders work drawings and lift finishes.

  • An accredited university degree
  • Must have previous experience in the Lift Industry
  • CAD - Should be conversant in Auto-Cad or similar design software.
  • Technical Drawings- Fully conversant with engineering drawings and able to explain them to others.
