The Role

Working in a team of 4, within a wider design team of 10, this role joins a well-established team programming on Siemens. The role of Electrical & Controls Engineer will involve:

  • Cradle to grave design work, from customer bidding and specification gathering through to commissioning and installation

  • Working closely with project management to ensure projects are on time and in budget

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Electrical & Controls Engineer role you will need:

  • A degree, HND or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline (graduates welcome)
  • Drive and passion for new technologies in automation, controls and electrical system design
  • An understanding of PLC programming – ideally Siemens (training can be provided)

Working within the Metrology Development team, a Senior Metrology Engineer primarily programs CMMs for critical components using Quindos and producing accurate Work Instructions. Additional duties can include supporting new technology introduction, contributing to forward planning across metrology and inspection areas, and apprentice development.

As a Senior Metrology Engineer at AWE, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of diverse, mission-critical project/programmes. Depending on the role, your responsibilities may include:

  • Programming CMMs using the Quindos programming language.
  • Measuring critical components using high precision CMMs and other metrology equipment.
