Your new companyOver the past few years, our client has evolved into the European hub of a fast-growing, innovation-led semiconductor group. What truly defines them isn’t just their technology, but the diverse, talented community behind it, people who share a clear sense of purpose and work together with genuine collaboration and pride. Their teams operate in a modern, fast-paced environment, driving advancements in next-generation touch technologies and exploring what’s possible across display and video systems, high-speed AI data processing and wireless connectivity. There’s a strong ambition running through the business: to build a world-class enterprise powered by deep technical expertise and continuous innovation.
As part of their expansion, they are now investing further to look for a Digital Lead. This creates an exciting opportunity for a skilled and ambitious individual to join a growing organisation where your work directly shapes new products, influences future technology, and contributes to a company pushing the boundaries of semiconductor development.
Your new roleMy client is seeking a Digital Lead who will take full ownership of the IC digital roadmap across two expanding markets, touch sensing and automotive MCUs. The role is pivotal in defining and delivering the digital architecture that sits at the core of these next-generation products. You’ll begin by working closely with stakeholders to establish clear product definitions and technical objectives, before driving the digital design activities from early architectural modelling through to verification and final validation. What sets this role apart is the breadth of technical responsibility. You will oversee the creation of advanced capacitive touch controller ICs, incorporating brand-new sensing architectures, while simultaneously contributing to the design of safety-critical automotive MCUs. Ensuring consistency, quality and performance across both lines will require strong technical judgement, a structured engineering mindset and the confidence to lead design reviews and resolve complex technical challenges.Equally important is the leadership element. You’ll manage a dedicated digital team, guiding resource allocation, monitoring progress, and ensuring technical direction remains aligned with project and organisational goals. Working with global partners and internal IP suppliers, you will represent the digital team’s needs in key decisions, whether that’s IP selection, EDA tool adoption or design-flow optimisation. It’s an ideal position for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of technology, people and strategy. What you’ll need to succeedMy client is looking for a candidate who brings a strong blend of technical rigour and leadership confidence. This role requires someone who has already proven they can manage teams and navigate multiple concurrent projects without losing sight of delivery timelines. You’ll need a solid foundation in digital IP development and integration, along with a methodical approach to problem-solving that allows you to explore complex design spaces while maintaining a high level of innovation.Because the work spans everything from architecture to physical implementation, they’re looking for someone who understands the full digital IC lifecycle how to translate a specification into a robust design and guide that all the way through verification, validation and silicon sign-off. Experience in low power design techniques, area optimisation and the selection and evaluation of EDA toolchains will be particularly valuable. A strong understanding of IP supply chains, including maturity models and third party IP quality assessment, will help you thrive in this environment, as will established skills in DfT, DfM, silicon debug and failure-analysis methodologies.Candidates should hold a BEng or MEng in Engineering, Electronics or a related field, ideally at a 2:1 or equivalent. My client is seeking someone with experience in digital or mixed-signal IC design, plus leading teams or projects. Exposure to mixed-signal design, Python, functional safety standards like ISO-26262, or display-related technologies is a bonus, as is familiarity with JIRA, Confluence or the broader ASIC flow. While not essential, these additional skills help accelerate performance and integration into the wider group. What you’ll get in return

IT Manager -
Southampton (hybrid (50:50) -
£75,000 p.a + company car or allowance
Role Focus - IT Foundation, Enablement and Change
This role is focused on getting the IT foundations aligned, stabilised, and ready to support a sustained programme of innovation and change across the organisation. It is less about setting strategy and more about making change possible, by ensuring the core technology estate, operating model, and team capability are fit for purpose.
The role acts as an enabler for transformation, working closely with the Head of Innovation to shape how innovation can be delivered in practice. This role plays a critical part in turning strategic intent into something the business can actually execute and absorb.
Responding to the day to day operational needs of a business is an integral part of how the team works, building close, supportive relationships with frontline teams on plants and sites, and approaching challenges collaboratively. The focus is on working together to keep systems safe, secure, and compliant, while making practical, well considered changes that support operational delivery. This naturally includes using safe, controlled IT environments to explore ideas and proof of concepts together, allowing learning, confidence, and trust to develop before changes are introduced into production. The role requires hands on experience across a predominantly Microsoft technology stack, spanning both legacy and modern platforms, within a currently hybrid environment.
Success in this role depends heavily on relationship building across the organisation. The individual must be proactive, visible, and trusted by stakeholders, with a clear interest in understanding how different parts of the business operate and where technology can genuinely remove friction or enable improvement.
From a leadership perspective, the role carries responsibility for supporting and developing the IT team. This includes addressing performance issues, navigating strong personalities, and being prepared to make difficult but necessary leadership decisions in the interests of the wider organisation.
Overall, this is a delivery focused, people centred role that creates the conditions for innovation, by strengthening the foundations, supporting the team, and enabling change to happen at pace and with confidence.
Key Requirements over next 12 Months

• Provide meaningful service metrics and reporting for the executive team

• Bring a structured, pragmatic approach to delivering IT change in a live operational environment
• Ideally hold a recognised project management qualification (Prince 2)
• Build basic project delivery capability within the IT team, introducing consistent ways of planning, tracking, and delivering change
• Apply project management principles proportionately, focused on clarity, ownership, and delivery rather than process for process sake
• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and encourage the same within the team
Support and enable major business change programmes
Actively support delivery across current transformation initiatives, including:
• Cyber Safe and Cyber Essentials programmes
• ERP and financial systems modernisation
• Transport Management and Compliance systems

• Lead the implementation of a new cloud phone system, such as Microsoft Teams Phone or an equivalent platform
