About The Role

We are seeking a full-time Associate Engineer with a strong technical and leadership background to support and help lead our structural engineering team. The role will involve delivery and oversight of complex engineering projects, primarily within the nuclear sector, while also supporting work across other regulated and infrastructure environments.

The Associate Engineer will play a key role in shaping technical delivery within a highly regulated industry, working closely with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality and compliant engineering solutions. The role also includes mentoring staff and contributing to the ongoing development of the team and wider business.

Role Responsibilities

• Take technical and managerial responsibility for the delivery of complex engineering projects from concept through to completion.

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to support and develop the project delivery capabilities of our busy and successful building services team in Manchester.

You should be able to demonstrate competence in all core mechanical design and engineering principals. You should be able to successfully lead and deliver multiple low complexity projects without supervision or packages of more complex projects, under the direction of more experienced staff. You will be expected to interface with clients and provide guidance and advice to less experienced staff.

Project work will vary and you will have experience with the delivery and management of projects across a range of sectors including life sciences, defence, education, commercial, residential, renewable energy, industrial, retail, healthcare and leisure within both public and private domains.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of design and delivery of mechanical engineering consultancy services for a portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for; undertaking calculations, production of drawings, producing specifications and reports, conducting site surveys, conducting construction stage duties, providing client liaison, consulting with members of design/construction teams and any other relevant duties required to comply with project briefs.

Producing and reviewing mechanical design drawings will be key to your role. Experience of using Autodesk Revit MEP would be beneficial. If required further training in Revit and other systems will be provided.

You will have the passion and drive to deliver and manage projects in accordance with the clients brief and programme, and will help develop good client relationships. You should be capable of managing your own workload, updating forward plans of workload regularly and working to time allocations.

About you:

Responsibilities:

We require an experienced individual of high calibre to lead projects for the Water Engineering team at Tetra Tech across a range of activities such as river, coastal and flood defence appraisal and design, hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessment, surface water management and the development of business cases. We work across a diverse range of clients delivering challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.

Our projects can range in size from £10k commissions up to £100m schemes covering flood risk projects for defence, transport, local government, utility, infrastructure, commercial, industrial and residential development.You will work independently and proactively on technical aspects from a projects inception, determining client briefs, to the delivery and close out of projects in accordance with best practice.

You will lead projects low and medium risk projects both technically and as a project manager as well as support junior colleagues throughout the delivery of projects, including client facing and leadership roles. We are seeking a full-time Principal Engineer with a strong technical background to support our structural engineering team delivering projects within the nuclear sector. This role is ideally suited to an engineer who has developed a solid technical foundation and is now looking to transition into a hybrid role combining technical leadership with emerging people and project responsibilities. The Principal Engineer will continue to play a hands-on role in engineering design and analysis, while progressively taking on greater responsibility for technical oversight, mentoring and coordination within project teams. Role Responsibilities Deliver high-quality engineering design and analysis for nuclear projects, from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
