Specific Deployment:

  • Initial Training Schedule: (First 3-6 months): Until the selected candidate is fully up to speed on our specific technologies and environment, the work schedule will be Monday - Friday business hours, working alongside existing Cyber Defense Operations engineers for onboarding, training and ramp-up.

  • Target Shift Schedule: This position is essential to completing our 24/7 operational coverage. After an initial training period, this role will transition to a weekend-concentrated four (4) eleven-hour shifts per week (specifically Friday through Monday, 10 working hours plus 1 hour for lunch). This shift grants three (3) consecutive days off every week.

  • In-Office Requirement: This position requires a minimum 2-day per week in-office presence. Candidates must be within commutable distance of the regional CME Group office

Core Responsibilities & Focus:

  • Incident Response Leadership & Governance: Act as the operational escalation point of contact and owner for regional weekend teams during incidents involving Cyber Defense Applications. Direct and coordinate global response efforts, ensuring clear, concise communication and a unified operational strategy across shifts until incident resolution/closure or handover.

  • System Resiliency Coordination, Execution & Oversight: Assume full accountability for the definition, hands-on execution, and governance of security-related tasks during scheduled System Resiliency (Disaster Recovery) exercises. Oversee scheduled exercises as the regional team System Resilience Coordinator (SRC) to fulfill exercise responsibilities, ensure all coordination, issue management, documentation, and communication to stakeholders are handled to the highest standard and aligned with enterprise resilience policy.

  • Change Management & Weekend Authority:Serve as regional authorized Cyber Defense Operations escalation point of contact for the weekly Saturday Change Status meetings. Validate, prioritize, and complete assigned weekend operational task work and change execution while ensuring adherence to policy and procedure.

  • Tool Standardization and Maturity: Oversee the operational health, configuration, and maintenance lifecycle of security tools, ensuring collaborative alignment with peer and engineering teams across all time zones.

  • Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor, develop, and set direction for the two-person teams in Belfast, Bengaluru, and the U.S., focusing on elevating technical skills, advanced incident analysis, and consistent operational best practices. Participate in and drive knowledge transfer between regional shifts to minimize operational variance and uplift the global team’s collective engineering capabilities.

  • Operational Automation: Identify opportunities and guide the development, deployment and supportive documentation of automation scripts (Python preferred) to enhance security control process, effectiveness and team efficiency across the regional operations.

Your role will include:

  • Liaising with production managers and shift supervisors to determine day to day maintenance and production priorities
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across plant equipment, keeping up-to-date maintenance records of all daily activities
  • Playing key role in developing, implementation of a continuous improvement program & culture
  • Perform daily in-depth fault finding, Root Cause Analyses, diagnosis and breakdown repairs
  • Comply with Company and Government legislation regarding Health & Safety and ensure H&S standards are maintained to highest standards
  • Diagnose and repair faults on plant control systems. Investigate the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid loss of plant production.

Your new role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible to:

  • Manage and oversee site-based engineering projects, including deep excavations, temporary works, cofferdams, and general civil projects.
  • Provide consultancy and design expertise to ensure project success.
  • Utilise Microsoft software proficiently to support project management and design tasks.
  • Collaborate with Tier 1/2 contractors and designers to achieve project goals.
  • Work independently and demonstrate high levels of motivation and initiative.

What you’ll need to succeed
To excel in the Senior Civil Engineering role, candidates should have demonstrated experience as a site-based engineer or in consultancy/design, especially with deep excavations, temporary works, cofferdams, and general civil projects. Proficiency in Microsoft software, high motivation, and the ability to work independently are essential. Experience with Tier 1/2 contractors or as a designer is highly must also be able to commute to Armagh and possess full working rights in the UK.

Your new role
You’ll manage detailed project programmes across mechanical assembly, commissioning/FAT and installation, ensuring all deliverables are aligned with design intent and production capacity. You’ll coordinate workflows between mechanical assembly, fabrication, BIM, panel build and engineering teams, translating technical drawings and design requirements into clear, actionable tasks.

Daily responsibilities include monitoring build progress, adjusting schedules where needed, planning resources, ensuring materials and documentation are available, and resolving any roadblocks impacting timelines, cost or quality.
You’ll run regular cross-functional meetings, act as the main point of contact for internal teams, assembly staff, procurement, suppliers and occasionally clients, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned throughout the build.

  • Proven project management experience within mechanical, M&E, building services or manufacturing.
  • Recognised Mechanical/Plumbing qualification
