Role

Lead the electrical design for building services projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Prepare detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and reports.
Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs within agreed timescales and budgets.
Develop strong client relationships and represent the company at client meetings and presentations.
Provide support in project management, including resource allocation, risk management, and project reporting.

Qualifications / Experience

A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartered status.
Extensive experience in electrical design engineering within the building services sector.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, security, and data systems.
Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools.
In-depth understanding of UK building regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges.
Proven experience in managing projects and client relationships.

What you’ll be doing:

Investigate into System Obsolescence on Ship installed parts

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

HNC/HND in an engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent, or demonstration of comparable suitable experience.
Understanding of System Engineering design Lifecycle.
Experience of System Physical and Functional Integration during the design, build, commissioning and acceptance periods of the lifecycle in a highly regulated environment.

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.

Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.

Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

Desirable:

Experience of Design/integration of Engineering Systems, preferably Combat Systems in a Naval environment.

What you’ll be doing:

Support the capture and agreement of technical requirements in line with company and programme processes, interpreting User Needs, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Concept of Use (CONUSE) to derive functional and technical requirements for external communications systems
Review technical solutions against contractual and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance, and support the definition of performance requirements, acceptance criteria and events across the CADMID lifecycle
Ensure all design documentation and design change records are generated, captured, configured and controlled in accordance with company processes
Support the development and maintenance of Verification Cross-Reference Index (VCRI), Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance Plans (ITEAP) and Qualification Plans

Summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a mechanically biased Senior Project Manager to join us on a multi million pound, mixed use industrial and commercial project, on the outskirts of Glasgow.

In this role you will control the overall operational delivery of a project (or part thereof), taking account of the safety, technical, commercial and managerial requirements through the whole life cycle of the project through bid and pre-commencement to successful completion. You will ensure that profitability is maintained or improved through effective leadership and management of the support functions, and high quality customer relationships.

Identify and manage risks

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable mechanical building services experience in a similar role within a construction environment, with previous experience in the full lifecycle management of high value projects.
