Role

Were looking for a motivated, skilled, and hands-on Senior Installation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Reporting to our Installation Supervisors, youll help deliver high-quality, efficient, and future-proof heating solutions to homes and communities across the UK.
Your work will include:

  • Installation of PIP {pre insulated pipework}: Coordination and laying / connecting pre-insulated pipework in trenches or at ground level, focusing on efficient insulation and long-term reliability for heating and cooling systems in outdoor or underground installations.
  • Installation of Heat Interface Units: The fitting of Heat Interface Units (HIUs) in residential settings, which involves connecting these units to centralized heating systems to provide efficient heating and hot water supply within individual homes.
  • Pipefitting of heating/cooling/hot water distribution systems.
  • Installation of fusion weld pipework
  • Fault finding and fixing any problems that arise
  • Taking ownership to ensure that all inspections and Quality Control check points are completed to industry, Rendesco and customer standards.

About you

  • You will bring proven experience from the renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors, ideally with a strong professional background in plumbing and/or pipefitting. With hands-on skills in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting water and heating systems, youll combine technical leadership with the ability to guide installation engineers and deliver innovative, efficient, and high-quality solutions.
  • You have experience producing inspection and testing reports, preferably within renewable energy or district heating projects, and possess a solid understanding of hydraulic systems, including flow and pressure principles. Alongside this, you demonstrate strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations (Part G) and hot water system standards, ensuring safe, compliant, and best-practice installations across all projects.

Qualifications and desired skills:

  • Engineering or Plumbing Qualification: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) ensuring an understanding of industry standards and best practices.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Design & Estimating Engineer to join a growing Glasgow-based team delivering complex architectural systems projects.

This role combines technical design expertise with commercial awareness, supporting projects from tender through to fabrication. You will develop practical design solutions, produce accurate drawings and prepare competitive, compliant quotations while working closely with clients, suppliers and internal fabrication teams.

Main Responsibilities:

Design & Technical

  • Preparing faade and shop drawings using AutoCAD
  • Developing details for curtain walling, punched windows, fixed lights and door ironmongery
  • Interpreting architectural and structural drawings to produce coordinated faade designs
  • Applying faade principles including glass specification, wind and barrier loads, weathering, drainage and thermal performance
  • Liaising with design office and fabrication teams to deliver buildable, practical solutions
  • Supporting design approvals, revisions and technical submissions

Estimating & Commercial

  • Reviewing tender documents, drawings and specifications to determine scope
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for faade packages
  • Carrying out material take-offs from drawings
  • Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Identifying risks, assumptions, exclusions and opportunities for value engineering
  • Preparing and submitting tender documentation to deadlines
  • Assisting with project handover following successful tenders

Essential Requirements

  • 510 years experience in faades (design, estimating or combined roles)
  • Strong background in steel faade systems (aluminium systems also considered)
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret architectural/structural drawings
  • Good understanding of faade performance, loads, interfaces and waterproofing
  • Strong numeracy, commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple live workloads

Preffered Experience

  • Exposure to Schco UK systems and Jansen steel systems
  • Experience with SchCal and/or LogiKal for design and pricing
  • Strong Excel skills or similar estimating tools
  • Experience with manufacturing and fabrication processes
  • Familiarity with CWCT guidance, relevant BS/EN standards and UK Building Regulations relating to faades
