Your New RoleDue to recent bid success, this company is currently seeking the services of an experienced Project Manager to join them on a range of projects where you will oversee groundwork, retaining structures, foundations, basement builds and take schemes up to substructure level. This is a new scheme starting from brown field site, with drainage and a steel frame portal as key essentials of the project. You will also oversee some access roads and all associated civils works on the project.
You will be the project lead on schemes valued in the £multi-millions, taking the projects from inception through to completion. You will be required to work on the programme whilst maintaining a focus on quality and health and safety. As PM, it will be expected you will have a background in civil engineering / groundwork’s packages and be able to plan and programme work ahead, while being in a client-facing role. There will be a site team on the ground to manage the daily tasks, although ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring the project runs smoothly and efficiently, whilst liaising with clients and subcontractors. You must have previous experience working on fast-paced projects and ideally have a technical background in Site or Civil Engineering.
What You’ll Need to SucceedA successful Project Manager will be able to effectively meet targets within time and budget whilst managing the performance of subcontractors and consultants. An established background in overseeing financial expenditure is essential to drive the project forward and deliver it to schedule. You will ensure that targets and progress reports are communicated concisely between the client and site team. With a wide market presence across the UK & Ireland, you must have a flexible attitude to travel. A rounded experience of Civil Engineering and Building is preferred, along with a background in Site or Civil Engineering.

Join our team and youll be responsible for providing technical leadership to all engineering and development areas across your domain, developing and executing an engineering strategy aligned to the portfolio and global tech strategies.

Working in the Design and Platform Performance domain, you willlead the technology side of web and mobile analytics for a platform with over 50 million visits each month, deliver the best user experiences and personalisation for talent and talent seekers. We built in-house large scale tracking platform, powered by Tealium, Kafka and Adobe Analytics, and successfully rolled it out to 10 of our brands. Along with the tracking we are owners of our AB testing tool Optimizely, our in-house Design System Genesys and Frontend Framework, which when put together powers the product development at scale using a data driven approach.

You will play a vital role as we reimagine the labour market to make it work for everybody.

Your responsibilities:

  • Managing and mentoring engineering professionals in your teams and domain, setting objectives for your teams and domain, owning the delivery of the outcomes, monitoring ongoing progress and performance within the OKR framework
  • Partnering with your product manager, other engineering managers, staff engineers, architect, agile coach and engineering director to formulate a domain level technical strategy
  • Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication between teams under your leadership and enabling free exchange of information within your sphere of influence, developing appropriate organisational structure together with the Engineering Director
  • Resourcing of plans to support the business objectives and working with the Engineering Director on budgeting within the domain

Qualifications

  • Experience of providing technical leadership to an engineering team; with excellent analytical, problem solving and influencing skills, resilient, open to change and results oriented
  • Experience of coding and testing of analytics tracking code using Tealium iQ, Tealium Event Stream, and Adobe Analytics
  • Experience of integrating data sources via web and hypermedia APIs
  • Proficient in Web Technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Next.js and Node.js, and in event-driven and eventual consistency systems using Kafka, .Net, Java, REST APIs, AWS, Terraform and DevOps

Job Role: Engineering Manager
Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £75,000 - £95,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate the technical delivery of water and wastewater projects across a variety of programmes and frameworks. You will work closely with project and programme leads to ensure technical governance, robust engineering standards, and effective coordination across a portfolio of water-sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and develop multi-disciplinary engineers, CAD technicians and graduates
  • Identify and implement appropriate, safe, efficient and value-engineered design solutions and communicate these to client and project teams
  • Act as Professional Head for design function
  • Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards and approve design packages
  • Identify and implement appropriate software packages, and drive the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessary
  • Manage production of design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements and are fully integrated
  • Review, interpret and brief standards, procedures and changes to them
  • Manage production of design deliverables within agreed timescales and hours and to formal processes and procedures
  • Ensure project change for design packages is fully recorded
  • Lead the estimating of hours required for design packages

About You:

  • Understanding of MEICA, civils and process designs
  • Track record managing multidisciplinary design teams and projects
  • 10 years’ experience working in the regulated water industry
  • Degree educated
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Proficient with IT
  • Driving Licence
