  • Working through a planned preventative maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
  • Providing reactive maintenance, attending to and resolving breakdowns swiftly and getting production lines back up and running again.
  • Dealing with VSD Drives and PLCs.

Requirements

  • The Engineer will need to have completed a recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Electrical Engineering qualifications at Level 3 or above.
  • Are experienced in performing reactive & PPM Electrical maintenance work within an industrial and/or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Will have experience of PLC Fault Finding, PLC programming skills are useful, additionally experience with VSD Drives is beneficial.
  • Siemens PLC experience extremely desirable

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of electrical designs from concept through to project delivery, working closely with clients, contractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer include:

  • Design and specification of electrical installations from LV up to 33kV
  • Electrical system modelling including load calculations, fault level assessments and protection coordination
  • Development of technical specifications for electrical equipment
  • Ensuring designs and site activities comply with relevant standards and regulations
  • Communicating design solutions through meetings, reports and technical drawings
  • Acting as the technical representative in client and contractor meetings
  • Conducting site surveys, inspections and monitoring on-site activities
  • Managing project delivery with a focus on budget and cost control
  • Producing detailed technical reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Mainly office based with site visits when required

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Ideally Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering (HND/HNC minimum essential)
  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical design
  • IET registration or a commitment to achieve registration
  • Experience using electrical modelling software such as Amtech, ETAP, PowerFactory or similar
  • Familiarity with relevant electrical standards and regulations
  • Strong professional report-writing skills
  • Basic AutoCAD proficiency
  • Experience in utilities or connections-related projects

What will you be doing?
Youll be driving the successful delivery of projects by providing technical solutions for the electrical element of CWA projects. To ensure efficiency, you will work in collaboration with all departments associated with the project delivery and the CWA management structure. Safety is paramount as you liaise with project stakeholders professionally and work progressively with the project team to achieve successful delivery. Working alongside the CWA Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) department, you will ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the electrical element of MEICA projects to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements. Your day-to-day activities will include liaising with subcontractors providing technical interpretation of drawings, issuing tender packages, and compiling project documentation. You will work with the MEICA delivery team to ensure that client and business needs are being met.
You’ll be motivated by driving successful project delivery and ensuring safety throughout. Your remit would be to provide technical solutions for clients while supporting the safe delivery of MEICA installations.
What youll bring

  • Electrical Engineering Qualification, HNC or above
  • Construction experience, preferably water but not essential
  • A full and valid UK driving licence
