Based in Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. Day to day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance activities including instrumentation calibrations. Who we’re looking for:

You’ll need to have experience in solving problems and being a strong communicator to be able to persuade and influence others.
You should be educated to at least ONC level in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and should have served a recognised Apprenticeship.

Specifically, you’ll need plant experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment, including but not restricted to, 3 phase motors and associated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers, motor control centres and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems.

You’ll be able interpret schematic drawings, single line diagrams and PLC ladder logic.

Ideally, you’ll also have process plant experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems including, but not restricted to, systems for the measurement of temperature, pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and ph.

TECH-AGNOSTIC ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer / Electronics Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering full lifecycle electronic product development — from initial specification through to production. This is a hands-on role suited to a mid–senior engineer (4+ years’ experience) who enjoys taking ownership of complex electronic hardware designs and working directly with customers. Key Responsibilities \* Electronic hardware design from concept to production \* Schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design (2–8 layers, mixed-signal) \* Design using MCU/MPU, RF systems, DC-DC & AC-DC power, analog and digital circuitry, FPGA and memory devices \* Hardware validation, testing and debugging using lab equipment \* Board bring-up and production support \* Apply DFT, DFM, DFP and Design for Compliance (DfC) principles \* Produce clear technical documentation \* Provide technical support and guidance to customers Required Experience \* Minimum 4 years’ experience in hardware / electronics design \* Strong experience in PCB design and schematic capture \* Hands-on experience in hardware testing and debugging \* Experience delivering full product lifecycle development \* Familiarity with mixed-signal embedded systems and IoT-style architectures \* Experience with Altium Designer (preferred) or other eCAD tools such as Eagle, KiCAD, Fusion or PADS \* Previous customer-facing or consultancy experience desirable Benefits \* Competitive salary \* Private healthcare (including immediate family) \* Pension and life assurance \* Flexible hybrid working arrangements \* Supportive and collaborative engineering environment
