This opportunity has arisen to support the development and growth of systems within Fisher German’s growing utilities department. The role will work closely with our land referencing and Geospatial teams to support the development and on boarding of clients and teams to our new project management system. Supporting future growth opportunities that align with our road map for systems in the division, the exciting role will be pivotal in our decision-making process.
Fisher German hold and maintain datasets from across the division for projects we are working on for clients large and small. We have been developing a central project management system to migrate all of our historic systems and databases into, which incorporates GIS mapping. The new system is still undergoing development whilst we begin to migrate projects over to it. With this the need has arisen for someone to support both the development but also migration process for this alongside providing user support and training. This role will be quite varied and will require strong data and technical skills alongside being driven and proactive in helping to make this transition period run smoothly.
The role will be internal facing but will include involvement with all client teams across the division to ensure data consistency and accuracy. Some involvement with our developer teams and external providers will also be required to ensure the system meets the ever-growing requirements of our clients.
This exciting role will be a great opportunity to help evolve our systems as a whole and help to steer the direction of our roadmap.
Duties will include:
· Managing user feedback and queries /troubleshooting issues
· Being responsible for and helping to deliver training which is system specific.
· Managing and assisting with data manipulation and cleansing to support project migration.
· Support with development and enterprise future plans for systems.
· Providing an interface between system users, the developers and product owner to support requirement gathering.
· Carrying out robust system testing for both new and old systems and also supporting our Senior Integrated Systems Analyst where needed

Your new role As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the organisation's enterprise data platform. We are supporting them in the search for an Enterprise Data Manager to take ownership of the organisation’s enterprise-wide data agenda. This is a senior, strategic role focused on data leadership, governance, stakeholder alignment and platform direction, sitting above the existing Data Engineering Manager and working across multiple business functions. This role provides enterprise-level oversight and cohesion across a complex, federated data landscape. What You’ll Be Doing
Leading and evolving the enterprise data strategy, turning high-level intent into a clear, actionable roadmap.
Providing enterprise leadership across the data ecosystem, bringing alignment between data engineering, architecture, governance and reporting functions.
Acting as the senior authority on data across the organisation, influencing senior stakeholders and shaping data-driven decision making.
Providing strategic oversight of the organisation’s modern data platform including Azure, Databricks, Lakehouse architecture and early exploration of Microsoft Fabric.
Guiding key decisions around sources of truth, data product lifecycle management and platform operating models.
Managing the strategic delivery partnership with Telef nica Tech, ensuring strong collaboration, knowledge transfer and service delivery.
Overseeing vendor-delivered workstreams and shaping the future sourcing strategy as the internal capability evolves.
Supporting the organisation’s data governance and AI governance foundations, ensuring strong controls before AI capability is scaled further.
Operating across a federated data landscape, aligning multiple teams and reducing duplication while strengthening the organisation’s overall data ecosystem.
Experience Required
Proven experience operating at Head of Data / Enterprise Data Manager / senior data leadership level.
Strong track record working within large, complex or regulated organisations.
Deep understanding of modern data platforms, data governance and enterprise data operating models.
Experience managing external vendors, managed services and strategic delivery partners.
Comfortable leading through organisational change, transformation and ambiguity.
Experience working with Databricks, Lakehouse architectures or Microsoft Fabric.
Background in regulated or data-rich industries such as finance, insurance, legal or media.
