  • Support the Senior Planning and Forecasting Manager and Head of Planning & Trading with the production of the long term annual and quarterly forecasting and planning processes.
  • Forecasting daily demand requirements, and feeds into the capacity/resourcing models, to achieve KPIs and SLAs as efficiently as possible
  • Share best practice across colleagues in the Forecasting & Planning team, and ops stakeholders.
  • Continuous review of performance, ensuring forecast performance is within acceptable toleration, variations are understood and articulated, and lessons learnt are incorporated into future forecasts.

The role Orbit are delighted to announce that we are recruiting for a Junior Data Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for the practical delivery of end-to-end Data Engineering activities utilising Azure technologies to import data to a central data warehouse where it is modelled to create business ready InfoMarts for consumption in PowerBI. You will also work as part of the Data Engineering team to embed best practice for the design, implementation, delivery and support numerous complex dataflows to connect operational systems. This will be an agile working role, which will require you to travel into our offices to work onsite roughly one day per week (this can fluctuate subject to business need). What you'll achieve Your key responsibilities will be to: Responsible for the practical delivery of a range of data engineering activities within the central data team to produce relevant data models to support business reporting requirements To support the lead data engineer in the maintenance and development of Orbit’s central data platform including responding to technical issues and supporting the deployment activities across the development, test and production environments Embed and document best practice processes within the Data Engineering team Utilise Azure DevOps in line with Data Engineering ways of working for source control, development, deployment pipelines and testing. Ensuring any assigned DevOps activities have the required level of detail and time spent on the task is logged Review requirements, specifications and define test conditions. Identify issues and risks associated with work while being able to analyse and report test activities and results.What you'll bring To be successful in this role of Junior Data Engineer you will need to have excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, you will also need experience working on SQL database development solutions within Visual Studio. ETL skills (min SSIS) preferably Data Factory and Synapse pipelines Knowledge of developing data warehouse solutions, modelling Fact and Dimension tables. Good communication skills able to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Experience gathering requirements, doing business analysis and working with SME’s to build/refine a requirements backlog. The Opportunity: BI Developer
An organisation within the healthcare and procurement services sector is seeking a highly motivated BI Developer to join its team. In this role, you will focus on building a new reporting portfolio to support a major business transformation programme and long term growth objectives. You will also assist in maintaining and enhancing existing BI dashboards and reports to support ongoing and evolving operational BAU needs. This includes operational KPIs, commercial opportunity analysis, management information and more, for both internal and external stakeholders.

The role offers the opportunity to further develop core BI skills across a broad range of areas such as front end visualisations, data modelling and data preparation/wrangling, across Fabric/Power BI and Tableau platforms. DUTIES (included, but not limited to):

  • Acting as the main resource for building and maintaining new procurement related reporting in Tableau.
  • Providing second line support for the Power BI reporting and dashboard portfolio.
  • Working through an ongoing backlog of enhancement requests and fixes to dashboards and reports, managed through an internal casework system.
  • Delivering project based work to support the development of new reporting capabilities and outputs.
  • Creating new or modifying existing visualisations and data models in Power BI and Excel, translating structured and unstructured data into useful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Interfacing with key data sources via a Fabric platform, data files (Excel, CSV, etc.) and SharePoint.
  • Supporting analytical cases, from simple to more advanced, by learning datasets and working closely with stakeholders.
  • Partnering commercially by developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Data visualisation experience (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar).
  • Basic data manipulation skills, such as data cleansing or standardisation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate work in line with requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and natural analytical ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
