Role description:
The Places Design Practice is seeking a career-minded Senior Engineer with proven experience in the design and delivery of civil engineering and urban development activities within building projects. This includes, but is not limited to, surface and foul drainage, utilities, earthworks/groundworks, and highways interfaces.
You will support Urban Development service delivery through the Places Design Practice, collaborating with cross-GBA teams, GEC, and global Places expertise. Experience in Industrial Manufacturing, Technology, or Defence projects is welcomed.
Role accountabilities:

• Lead civil engineering design activities contributing to sustainable development while applying Arcadis Health and Safety principles during project planning and delivery.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary design teams to ensure integrity and cohesion of overall engineering solutions.
• Define and implement project approaches for collaboration with global design colleagues.
• Prepare and manage design solutions at various project stages, including production of drawings, BIM models, reports, and specifications.
• Attend project meetings and review the work of other team members to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams including design, environmental, and construction disciplines to achieve project objectives.
• Identify and implement engineering management arrangements to align with Arcadis Integrated Management System requirements.
• Prepare and maintain Designer Hazard Logs and communicate residual risks to the Principal Designer.
• Provide technical input to project Design Decision Logs and Project Assumptions registers.
• Act as a technical design lead by contributing to the resolution of technical issues and providing guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.
  Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is preferred candidates nearing chartered status will also be considered.
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of civil engineering and urban development activities within building projects, including surface water and foul water drainage, highways, and utility design.
• Proficiency with design software such as MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and BIM integration.
• Strong understanding of relevant design codes, standards, and construction principles, including SuDS, Sewers for Adoption, DMRB, and Building Regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, provide technical direction, and mentor team members to support their professional development and project delivery.
• Commitment to maintaining and extending theoretical knowledge and applying evidence-based approaches to problem-solving.

Role Purpose

To support the Asset Data Analyst in managing and enhancing asset management data systems. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality data is maintained, developed, and effectively used to inform investment decisions, long-term planning, and compliance with relevant regulatory standards.

Asset Data Management

Under the direction of the Asset Data Analyst:

• Collect, validate, input, manipulate, extract, and analyse asset-related data.
• Ensure data accuracy by challenging inconsistencies provided by internal teams and external contractors.
• Coordinate and support programmes of stock condition surveys.
• Gather stock condition and component lifecycle data from multiple sources and formats, ensuring timely and accurate input into asset management systems.
• Reconcile property address data across asset management and housing management systems to maintain consistency.
• Generate scenario modelling from asset databases to support investment planning, financial forecasting, and maintenance programmes.
• Review and update cost data schedules and component lifecycle assumptions within asset systems.
• Maintain the security, integrity, and confidentiality of asset data in line with organisational policies and procedures.
• Continuously improve the scope, accessibility, and accuracy of asset data.
• Produce reports relating to stock condition, regulatory compliance, financial planning, and energy efficiency performance.
• Maintain and update data relating to the energy efficiency of residential properties.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive asset and property data to support strategic planning and organisational objectives.
• Respond to enquiries regarding asset management and energy efficiency from stakeholders, including internal teams and residents.
• Support the monitoring and review of the Asset Management Strategy and associated documentation.
• Deliver training and guidance to staff on accessing and using asset management systems.

What We re Looking For
Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Splunk for log analysis and operational insight
• Proficiency in Power BI for dashboarding and reporting
• Experience with AWS Athena and SQL-based analysis in cloud environments
• Familiarity with digital analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics or similar)

Experience & Context

• Background working in agile or DevOps environments
• Experience handling sensitive or regulated data (ideally within healthcare or similar sectors)
