What you’ll be doing
Working in the Digital Operations team you’ll collaborate with various teams across the business as well as suppliers. You’ll monitor, manage, and coordinate the operational delivery of our online customer offer. This involves everything from troubleshooting website issues and managing online fraud risk to analysing data to gain insight into how we can make the service better.

You will be an escalation for the Operations team, identifying and fixing issues, resolving queries and providing advice.

You will be a key member of the Leadership Team. Participating and contributing to the overall growth and success across the team, you will be seen as a digital leader. This reputation will extend not just within but also the wider company.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
- Experience in leading a team of people, coaching and supporting personal development is essential.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong numeracy skills with the ability to manage and analyse large datasets.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, as well as being technically savvy to use multiple different systems.
- Problem solving, an inquiring mind, attention to detail, taking a structured approach, with a desire to improve business processes will be some of your core skills.
- You will require yourself to work and make decisions at pace. You will be working under pressure to tight deadlines. Meanwhile, you will initiate and respond positively to challenging ideas and pressures. This is necessary to meet the needs and demands that the online business requires.
- You will need to be flexible and required to support out of hours escalations.
- Knowledge of current Fraud industry trends is preferred but not essential.

Key responsibilities
You’ll be leading your own user research projects working alongside a team of researchers and UX designers to support product teams within our digital, running their research activities to gather behavioural insights, from usability interviews to card sorting.
- Showcase users interacting with our products (or prototypes) to help teams understand user behaviours and any pain points. You’ll task yourself with organising user sessions and coordinate with the team to get them engaged regularly around agile ways of working.
- Analyse research projects, both independently and with a team, to convey key findings to partners. This will involve qualitative and quantitative research to help us create a well-rounded view of the customer experience.
- Create reports and presentations and be able to communicate these to partners at different levels across the business.
- Provide product owners support and insight on the most important customer drivers to help them manage the backlog and provide insight into product development based on customer needs.
- Embed customer knowledge within product teams to help everyone have a shared view of the customer and their needs. This is running workshops, regular insight demos, group analysis sessions or contributing to our growing insights portal
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
Must have experience conducting behavioural research (such as usability studies, questionnaires, interviews, observational studies, at this time we are looking for someone with User Research experience specifically.) Experience using prototypes would be beneficial.
- The ability to analyse data (preferably qualitative and quantitative) to determine areas to prioritise. Expertise In analytics would be an advantage. We will provide support for those with knowledge gaps across methods, but some experience is required. You’ll get the chance to learn new methods when they’re appropriate for the research question and learn from other team members.
- Strong communication skills to synthesis and present research results to various stakeholders in an engaging way, both verbally and visually.
- Keen interest in human behaviour and/or product development. (Degree in psychology, HCI, sociology would be an advantage).
- Preferably experience working within a product team and working with UX designers. Experience working in Agile would be beneficial. Experience with the product lifecycle and how research can fit into it.

Key Skills & Experience * Proven experience delivering engineering or maintenance projects (rail, rolling stock, aerospace, automotive, or similar technical sectors). * Strong project management capability: planning, scheduling, risk, cost, reporting. * Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills. * Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements. * Experience in matrix or cross‑functional environments. * Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills. Beneficial * Rolling stock or rail industry experience. * Engineering background (degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience). * Project management qualifications (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, etc.). * Experience managing suppliers and supply chain activities.
