ABOUT THE ROLE
As a HVAC / Gas multiskilled Engineer, you will be part of our National engineering team, responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial and retail sites. You will ensure HVAC / Gas systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and client requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WITHIN YOUR SPECIFIED AREA
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Carry out PPM tasks in line with SFG20, statutory requirements, and contract specifications.
Maintain and service HVAC and gas plant including:
Commercial gas boilers and heaters
AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, split systems
Pumps, valves, fans, controls, and associated plant
Ensure all works are completed proactively, efficiently, and to the required standard.
Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding
Diagnose faults across both HVAC and gas systems, completing repairs within SLA requirements.
Minimise downtime through effective troubleshooting and first-time fix focus.
Escalate complex issues to the helpdesk or Contract Manager where appropriate.
Compliance & Health & Safety
Ensure all gas works are completed in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and current legislation.
Ensure HVAC works comply with F-Gas regulations, manufacturer guidance, and company procedures.
Maintain site logbooks and ensure accurate compliance documentation is completed and uploaded via the CAFM system.
Work strictly in accordance with company H&S policies, RAMS, and statutory requirements.
Quotations & Remedial Works
Identify remedial works and produce accurate, commercially sound quotations, including:
Correct parts identification
Realistic labour allowances
Clear scope and methodology
Communication & Client Liaison
Communicate professionally with clients, helpdesk, supervisors, and contract managers.
Provide clear updates on works completed, defects identified, and follow-on actions required.
Always act as a professional ambassador for Linaker.
Asset, Van & Equipment Management
Maintain van stock, tools, test equipment, and calibration devices.
Ensure company assets are stored, maintained, and reported correctly.
Participate in the on-call rota where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
To lead projects in the design of cables (combining various functions such as breathing gases, other fluids, electrical power, communication, hydraulics and pneumatics), primarily for commercial diving applications but also for offshore engineer defence and other special purposes.
As an electrical design engineer, you will select and size functional components (hoses, cables, optical fibres) and their lay-up, plus selection of insulation and jacket materials, braiding, armouring and overall umbilical configuration, to meet the customers specification, applicable industry and classification requirements,
Writing test specifications and qualification procedures for the umbilical in the relevant customer-specified scenario (e.g. under tension, torsion, compression and cyclic bending), when needed.
Providing technical support to the production team during the manufacturing process, to ensure quality and conformity to design.
Investigating and resolving cable-related field failures or performance issues, and implementing robust design improvements into future cable designs.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer x 2 (Continental Shifts), Birmingham, £23.19 per hour - c42 hours = c£50,646.96 per annum. Continental 12 hour rotation, 4 on 4 off (Contracted to work all company shift patterns). Reporting to the Shift Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for the supervision of external contractors and service providers. Job Purpose: Complete permits to work and risk assessments, assessing all risks involved in the work to be undertaken. Ensure safe systems of work are applied, adhered to, and followed out consistently. Support and achieve Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance and Plant improvement initiatives, Installation projects, statutory inspections, factory services and any other duties required to ensure plant safety, performance, improvement and operation. Supervision of external contractors and service providers. Interact with all stakeholders at any level within the business on a daily basis to resolve equipment & site related issues. Be a point of contact for internal customers to resolve plant, equipment, and safety issues & provide technical support. Interact with external bodies, suppliers, and contractors to achieve the above. Ensure critical spares are available and stock levels are maintained on consumption.
