If you’re after a role where you’re backed properly, paid well, and not micromanaged, this is worth a look.
I’m working with a well-established fire and security business that’s growing steadily and investing in its engineers. They’ve built a strong national presence but have kept that grounded, engineer-led feel. Senior management have come up through the tools themselves, so the people making decisions actually understand what the job involves day to day.
The package
Basic salary up to £45,000
On-call payments around £1,200 per year
Overtime and rota typically adding around £10,000 annually
Door-to-door travel paid
Company van with personal use
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Healthcare cash plan
5% employer pension contribution
Attendance bonus
Death in service and accident insurance
The role
Service, maintenance and small works
Birmingham-based with national travel as required
Work across commercial sites including schools, hospitals, care homes, offices and utilities
A mix of fire alarms, access control, intruder alarms and CCTV systems
You won’t be stuck on one site every day. It’s a varied role suited to engineers who enjoy different environments and a mix of systems.
Experience with systems like Honeywell, Advanced, Morley, Kentec, C-Tec, Paxton, Gallagher, ACT, Texecom, Hikvision or Dahua is useful, but attitude and willingness to learn matter just as much.
Training and progression
Training is a genuine focus. Engineers are supported with system training, FIA and BAFE courses, and encouraged to broaden their tickets rather than being kept in a narrow lane. If you want to build your skill set, they’ll back it.
The business employs around 100 people nationwide, giving you structure and support without the corporate feel. Workloads are planned sensibly, and engineers are trusted to manage their day professionally.
If you want a stable role with strong earning potential and proper support behind you, apply with your CV. It doesn’t need to be perfect. A quick chat can cover the detail
