About the role:

As an EC&I Technician, you’ll provide electrical, control and instrumentation support to the plant mainly focussed on planned and unplanned maintenance activities. You’ll also provide some support on modification and replacement projects.

Based in Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. For nearly 25 years the plant has focussed on creating wdf pellets from sewage sludge reducing environmental impacts as well as creating a new fuel source replacing the need to burn fossil fuels.

Day to day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance activities including instrumentation calibrations. You’ll ensure that all work is managed and recorded correctly to maintain compliance, inspiring safe ways of working across the site, setting a high standard of EC&I engineering activity, and supporting in rolling out new processes, systems, and ways of working to your colleagues on site.

You’ll be joining a tight knit, dedicated team based on site, who are also part of a larger group with a wide support network.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll need to have experience in solving problems and being a strong communicator to be able to persuade and influence others.
You should be educated to at least ONC level in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and should have served a recognised Apprenticeship.

Specifically, you’ll need plant experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment, including but not restricted to, 3 phase motors and associated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers, motor control centres and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems.

You’ll be able interpret schematic drawings, single line diagrams and PLC ladder logic.

Ideally, you’ll also have process plant experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems including, but not restricted to, systems for the measurement of temperature, pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and ph.

VIQU have partnered with a well-established manufacturing organisation seeking an IT Support Engineer to maintain and support IT infrastructure at their Cannock site, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and efficient while providing technical support to both office and manufacturing staff.

Key Responsibilities of the IT Support Engineer:

• Maintain and support IT infrastructure including operating systems, servers, applications, laptops, desktops, and security tools.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, troubleshooting business-critical and system-wide IT issues.
• Liaise with external IT providers and oversee administration of the EFACS ERP system and other key business applications.
• Ensure adherence to IT policies, security standards, and disaster recovery requirements, while maintaining hardware and software inventory.
• Train users, create technical documentation, support SQL queries from the ERP system, and assist with IT and ERP development projects.

Key Requirements for the IT Support Engineer:

• Experience with TISAX or ISO27001 is essential.
• Experience working with MRP systems such as EFACS.
• Minimum 2+ years experience in an IT Support or Helpdesk role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

We are seeking a professional and experienced Field Service Engineer - Electro-Mechanical to join a global engineering company, with their Telford site as a base.

Covering all aspects of the field role, including:

  1. Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical
  2. installation/commissioning
  3. provide customer training
  4. repair and rebuild work
  5. preventative and reactive service work
  • Working in-house at the UK facility to repair, test, electrically and mechanically, manufacturing machinery and ancillary equipment in order to prepare them for sale
  • Demonstrate your Mechanical ability to rebuild & repair machinery and associated equipment to very high standards.
  • Perform electrical/electronic repairs, rebuilds, upgrades, fault finding of latest technology PC controlled systems, PLC units, inverters of all makes and models, etc
  • Work on own initiative as required
  • Be prepared to undertake & digest all training that will be provided and also learn and understand equipment and processes off your own initiative.
  • Be prepared to travel all over the UK and abroad when requested
  • Demonstrate at team and individual levels, willingness to show innovative ideas/skills and solutions to help drive the Company forward.
  • Must have a pro-active can-do attitude to all work and projects, integrating with the entire team with the aim of continuously improving what we offer, bettering our standards etc
  • Ensure that any queries you have with any job or project are addressed and action taken as necessary.
  • Discuss with and follow up on specific job requirements such as parts orders etc, to ensure that when a job begins, we have everything in place.
  • Work and use your technical knowledge to provide bespoke solutions for customers and implement new ideas. Actively help & participate to improve and install a team attitude within the service department, extending to working more closely with the Sales Team and management.
  • Support and help implement new working structures/best working practice etc.
  • Advise on and check through proposals for work, projects to ensure the labour content is correct, and all the right parts are included, and the necessary engineering element is correct.
  • Fully project-manage jobs such as press re-wiring for example, to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
  • Actively up-sell our products and capabilities and seek out new avenues for what we can offer. To include assessment of any value-added things we can consider that we can offer our customers.
  • Liaise with the service team, and check and assist with planning for work to ensure deadlines are met and that we are ahead of the game.

You will have relevant qualifications related to Field Service Engineer - Electro-Mechanical work and have ideally served a relevant engineeringapprenticeship.
