About the role:
As an EC&I Technician, you’ll provide electrical, control and instrumentation support to the plant mainly focussed on planned and unplanned maintenance activities. You’ll also provide some support on modification and replacement projects.
Based in Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. For nearly 25 years the plant has focussed on creating wdf pellets from sewage sludge reducing environmental impacts as well as creating a new fuel source replacing the need to burn fossil fuels.
Day to day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance activities including instrumentation calibrations. You’ll ensure that all work is managed and recorded correctly to maintain compliance, inspiring safe ways of working across the site, setting a high standard of EC&I engineering activity, and supporting in rolling out new processes, systems, and ways of working to your colleagues on site.
You’ll be joining a tight knit, dedicated team based on site, who are also part of a larger group with a wide support network.
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll need to have experience in solving problems and
being a strong communicator to be able to persuade and influence others.
You should be educated to at least ONC level in
Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and should have served a recognised
Apprenticeship.
Specifically, you’ll need plant experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment, including but not restricted to, 3 phase motors and associated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers, motor control centres and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems.
You’ll be able interpret schematic drawings, single line diagrams and PLC ladder logic.
Ideally, you’ll also have process plant experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems including, but not restricted to, systems for the measurement of temperature, pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and ph.

The Lightning Systems Integration Facility (LSIF) is established at the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC) on Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth, to support testing and integration of the F35 Lightning II Aircraft within the UK military infrastructure.
A UKLTI System Administrator is required to administer, patch, secure and maintain the LSIF systems within the MISC environment, prepare the systems in line with testing requirements, and occasionally implement changes to the facility and established infrastructure.
A major function of the role is the maintenance of government furnished computer equipment (including large servers). As part of this, the liaison and effective communication between suppliers, owners, partners and users is crucial in ensuring the equipment is available to the right groups at the right time.

Our client, a high-technology business operating within the defence and security sector, delivers immersive training solutions, simulation, and defence consultancy. They are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join their growing team based in Portsmouth.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and guide the design, development, and implementation of complex systems in line with defence acquisition best practice
Work closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure project and product requirements are met
Prepare and present materials for project design reviews to internal and external stakeholders
Provide engineering assistance in the management of subcontractors and review of supplier deliverables
Develop, maintain, and control engineering documentation, including requirements documentation, system architectures, design documentation, test and acceptance plans, and bills of materials
Provide technical input and assistance to projects and the wider business
Conduct feasibility studies and produce technical reports
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal engineering processes
Job Requirements
Previous experience in a Systems Engineering role
Demonstrated experience specifying, designing, developing, and implementing complex systems through to delivery
Strong knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle and associated practices
Ability to interpret customer requirements within an operational context
Experience developing system architectures using appropriate tools and modelling languages (e.g. SysML)
Experience in Integration, Test and Verification, including presenting verification evidence to stakeholders
Knowledge of Agile methodologies, tools, and techniques
Experience producing technical documentation and reports, with the ability to present to internal and external audiences
Familiarity with systems engineering processes, tools, and techniques within a defence framework
Understanding of synthetic training solutions and naval defence platforms/systems is highly desirable
