Purpose of the role:
As IT Support Specialist you will act as primary liaison for Digital Technology related requests, addressing issues related to desktop and infrastructure, and escalating to other teams as needed.

You will provide onsite technical support across hardware, software, and engineering applications.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as client liaison for all Digital Technology related requests from staff, being first line of engagement to understand and address issues and needs around desktop (Windows, O365 etc.) and infrastructure (compute, storage, network, cloud services, enterprise systems, cyber security, etc.), engage and escalate to other Digital Technology teams as needed.
  • Provide value added services to the business, working together with the leadership team to drive technology and help transform business activities.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones and other computer and telecoms equipment.
  • Solve problems associated with hardware (PCs, Macs, mobile, etc.), software, and services (video conferencing, remote access, etc.), determining the source of problems and classifying their level, priority, and nature. When appropriate, escalating or routing them to the appropriate team.
  • Respond to, document, and resolve service tickets in a timely manner according to an agreed service level.
  • Document procedures, standards, best-practice configurations, settings, installation sequences, and back-out instructions.
  • Follow ITIL/Service Management policies and procedures.
  • Help the software asset management team to maintain applications (licence management and version control).

The skills you’ll need:

  • Proven hands on experience in an office based IT support role.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of laptop builds, device provisioning, and infrastructure support.

Your job as Electrical Commissioning Engineer will be to ensure that all high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems and equipment are installed, tested, and verified to meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
Primary purpose is to lead pre-commissioning (FAT) and commissioning (SAT) activities, troubleshoot issues, and confirm readiness for safe and reliable integration into existing infrastructure and unit startup.

THE ROLE:
Develop commissioning plans and lead the execution of FAT and SAT procedures for HV and LV equipment and distribution systems.

Based in Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. For nearly 25 years the plant has focussed on creating wdf pellets from sewage sludge reducing environmental impacts as well as creating a new fuel source replacing the need to burn fossil fuels.

Day to day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance activities including instrumentation calibrations. You’ll ensure that all work is managed and recorded correctly to maintain compliance, inspiring safe ways of working across the site, setting a high standard of EC&I engineering activity, and supporting in rolling out new processes, systems, and ways of working to your colleagues on site.

Responsibilities and duties of the Condition Based Monitoring Engineer role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will:

  • Lead the application of condition-based maintenance (CBM) strategies to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency across the site.
  • Act as the site subject matter expert for condition monitoring techniques including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thickness testing.
  • Select and implement appropriate condition monitoring techniques in collaboration with engineering subject matter experts.
  • Analyse condition monitoring data and translate findings into actionable maintenance plans to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Manage vibration analysis activities on site, including conducting vibration routes and interpreting results.
  • Develop, review, and optimise condition monitoring routes and inspection routines to ensure effective asset monitoring.
  • Manage lubrication practices across the site and supervise the lubrication technician to ensure best practice is followed.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance technicians in the use of condition monitoring techniques.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging condition monitoring technologies and communicate improvements to the engineering team.
  • Ensure all condition monitoring activities are carried out safely and in compliance with site health and safety standards.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Mechanical engineering background, typically through an apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering experience.
  • Minimum CAT-I certification in Vibration Analysis, with CAT-II certification desirable.
  • Experience working with heavy industrial equipment in a complex manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven experience coordinating proactive or predictive maintenance programmes.
  • Experience implementing condition-based monitoring techniques across multiple operational areas.
