We are recruiting for a motivated and adaptable Multi-Skilled Engineer to support the ongoing reliability and performance of production equipment. This position is vital in ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to output.
This is a practical, hands-on role requiring strong mechanical and electrical capability within a manufacturing environment. The successful individual will support operational demands, including participation in shift patterns and occasional weekend on-call cover where required.
This role runs on 3 different shift patterns: days, earlies, and lates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, accurately recording all work undertaken
• Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain production flow
• Action maintenance requests within agreed service levels
• Identify underlying causes of equipment failures and implement long-term corrective solutions
• Contribute to and drive continuous improvement activities to improve plant reliability and operational performance
• Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations and arrange procurement of spare parts and components

The Candidate
Completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold relevant engineering qualifications
Demonstrable experience across both electrical and mechanical maintenance
Sound knowledge of manufacturing machinery and PLC-controlled systems
Experience within an FMCG environment would be beneficial
Strong problem-solving ability with an understanding of lean manufacturing principles

Multi-skilled to some degree with credible, demonstrable electrical and / or mechanical experience in an industrial maintenance environment in addition to a core discipline.
Minimum NVQ level 3 / BTEC / City & Guilds.
PLC / Scada / Controls understanding.
