Summary

NG Bailey IT Services are currently recruiting a Data Engineer / Managed Services Engineer with experience in both structured and voice cabling to support our contract covering our MOD contract in Cyprus responding to break fix / faults and minor projects across the portfolio.

The Data Engineer will have experience of installation and fault finding of Structured and Voice Cabling systems and preferably hold the CNCI (Certified Network Cable Installer) qualification. You will be responsible for responding to any of our managed service contract break fix requests as per the contract SLA’s. It will be desirable to have experience as a service engineer of Electronic IP Security Systems.

This position works in an MOD area where SC Security Clearance (DV Clearance Desirable) is required therefore current or previous Security Clearance is preferred. If you do not have security clearance, this will be requested at offer stage and a condition of employment.

This role is based in Cyprus, therefore initial transportation costs and removals will be provided.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Monitor the quality and productivity against programme and maintain daily site records and reports
  • Ensuring design and installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirements
  • Locate and rectify faults on structured cabling systems
  • Work from construction drawings

Our client is looking for a SQL DBA to join their IT Development team.

In this role, you will

  • Provide essential support to the development and IT teams by offering advice, guidance, and quality assurance on database-related tasks.
  • A key part of the role will involve identifying and resolving non-performant SQL queries, ensuring smooth operations and high performance across our systems.
  • You will contribute to maintaining a reliable and secure SQL Server estate, ensuring it operates efficiently and securely, and the role will report to the Software Development Manager, working with the Lead DBA s to fulfil the requirements of both internal and external customers.

Your main duty as a Senior Systems Engineer is to undertake work on Security & Fire Systems that mainly falls into the below categories: • Planned preventative maintenance/servicing of systems. • Installation of systems. • Repair of systems. • Leadership and on-site management of works. You are expected to hold and maintain high levels of service and always represent the goals and visions of the company. You are expected to perform the duties of a Systems Engineer as below: • Systems engineers will be a key point of contact for a number of customers, and be responsible for ensuring their security engineering needs are met. • Hold a high level of communication with operational staff regarding travel, jobs and issues. • Always stay professional and adhere to the companies Health, Safety, Welfare & Responsibilities policy. • Ensure Customer documentation is current and in good condition. • Always deliver excellent Customer Service. • Liaise with customers and operational staff to agree the best course of action. • Ability to work alone or as part of a team. • Maintain high levels of workmanship. • Take onboard advice and learn from engineers within the team. • Ensure your time is managed correctly. • Provide detailed and well written work reports. • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop. Some additional key duties and responsibilities as a Senior: • Feedback progress of engineers you are leading to operational management. • Ensure you are maintaining the balance of allowing those less experienced to lead at times while providing guidance when necessary. • Be the key point of contact for issues while on jobs and provide experienced insight to operational staff of potential problems on the horizon, if applicable. • Lead multiple member teams and sub-contractors, if necessary, while enforcing the high standard of work required by the company.
