Fire modelling experience will be beneficial. Whilst it is not intended for the role to involve full computational modelling and fluid dynamics, a working knowledge of the calculation process is essential, to define performance requirements to be implemented through design work by others.
Be a role model to all staff in terms of character and work ethic to ensure acceptable working practices and procedures.
Key Skills
Recognised fire safety and engineering guidance and Codes of Practice, e.g.
BB100, BR187, BS 8629, BS 9990, BS 5839, PAS8671 (Flex), BS 8579,
Building Regulations Approved Document Part B, BS9999, and similar.
Have Knowledge of recognised fire engineering CFD (fire & smoke modelling) and
CEM (evacuation modelling).
Experience
Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in the UK working across a wide range of construction sectors.
Fire engineering degree, or alternatively a post graduate qualification in fire engineering.
Registered fire risk assessor within a recognised professional body.
