Telent are now looking for a SCIDA Site Engineer in the Southern part of England due to growth. SCIDA Field Engineer - What You’ll Do:

SCIDA Service Delivery

  • Serve as the point of contact for allocated sites, reporting to the Area Manager
  • Deliver SCIDA services in accordance with Air SCIDA Engineering Instructions and JSP 453
  • Attend siting boards, surveys and RAF/MOD meetings to support project delivery
  • Conduct initial design reviews and identify compliance risks

The opportunity:

An opportunity to join the team delivering MBDAs future anti-ship / deep strike capability integrated in the Maritime domain. This is working as part of the wider Mission Planning & Control team developing future deep strike / anti-ship capability. This is a role which requires good systems engineering skills and an enthusiastic approach to work with scope to expand responsibilities as the programme progresses. This role pushes MBDAs Mission Planning function beyond its traditional areas of interest so provides an exciting opportunity to grow capabilities and develop valuable expertise.

The role covers:

  • Working within the team delivering the Maritime Anti-Ship / Deep Strike Mission Planning (Maritime MP) product and engaging with the wider Mission Planning team
  • Supporting the Maritime MP product owner to create the Maritime variant
  • Working across the whole systems engineering lifecycle from requirements elicitation through to testing and delivery
  • Generating and contributing to key engineering artefacts and design reviews
  • Developing design within the systems architecture model
  • Working with software and algorithm functional teams within the programme
  • Opportunity to engage with end users and customers

This role provides the opportunity to contribute to a key strategic defence project, as well as being able to get hands on as the product progresses.

The Land Ceptor System of Systems organisation is growing fast in order to support delivery of export contracts and evolution of the product to enhance the capabilities for our customers. As a System of Systems engineer your primary objective is to support the functional integration of the Land Ceptor product into a wider Ground Based Air Defence Weapon System context.

Salary: Circa £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

Location: Bristol or Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship .

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

As a System of System Engineer you will support (or lead dependant on experience) across a number of work streams including:

  • Working with the customer to define System of Systems Requirements, including evolution paths for future development.
  • Working with the customer to define System of Systems architecture and use-cases to support development and evolution of system requirements.
  • Defining System of Systems integration requirements and verification plans.
  • Conducting design and technical reviews both internally and in conjunction with the customer.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on technical issues, queries and conflict resolution including co-ordinating responses to and from the customer and industrial partners.

We are looking for flexible and motivated candidates to work collaboratively with our customers, industry partners and internal project teams to develop solutions for existing and future programmes. The work is varied, providing you with a unique opportunity to develop a wider awareness of multiple engineering disciplines alongside contributing to critical programme delivery in the form of System architectural design and requirements definition.
