Overview

Currently, delivery teams seeking to build or procure digital products within the Cabinet Office must navigate a highly complex and fragmented assurance landscape. Critical compliance rules and policies are often hidden or difficult to locate, and the manual nature of the process frequently traps teams in frustrating administrative bottlenecks and dependency loops.

To address this, we are developing a “Digital Assurance Navigator” platform that translates these complex policies into an automated, machine-readable rules engine. Because we are currently in the Alpha phase, we are prototyping an intelligent, AI-driven interface that interviews users about their project and dynamically generates a tailored, step-by-step checklist of exactly what is required to achieve compliance.

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to help us map this complex ecosystem and design an intuitive, user-centred journey that removes friction and guides teams safely from inception to deployment

Deliverables

. Prototypes that will be tested and iterated with end users
. New design patterns and components for AI-driven interactions, to be integrated into the product
. Accessibility and inclusion requirements documentation, ensuring all designs meet legal requirements
. Stakeholder presentation materials and decision logs to negotiate and document key design choices

Job description

The Lead DevOps Engineer will contribute to and lead activities related to building on our AWS platforms. This includes building new products, and re-platforming workloads to cloud-native architectures. They will design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-efficient AWS solutions using modern engineering patterns such as containerisation, serverless computing, automated IaC deployments, and improved observability.

You will work closely with a product, UCD, and engineering team to ensure the adoption of modern platforms and tooling while embedding best practice approaches for resilience, automation, and operational readiness across services.

Tools and Technologies

We are keen for Engineers to continue learning new technologies. We have a large range in the Cabinet Office including:

. Backend: Java, Node.js, C#, Python, PHP, Scala, Power Platform
. Frontend: React, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular
. Data: PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Neo4J, Amazon Athena, RDF
. DevOps: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Dynatrace
. AI: Python, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Anthropic

Main responsibilities

. Supporting the team in mapping their stories to available platforms, ensuring effective and secure service deployment.
. Developing and maintaining hardened base containers, undertaking skilled platform build and support activities.
. Identifying gaps in best practices, advising teams on delivery risks and recommending improvements.

Starling is the UK’s first and leading digital bank on a mission to fix banking! We built a new kind of bank because we knew technology had the power to help people save, spend and manage their money in a new and transformative way.

We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company. We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone. We employ more than 3,000 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

Our technologists are at the very heart of Starling and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that is all about building things, creating new stuff, and disruptive technology that keeps us on the cutting edge of fintech. We operate a flat structure to empower you to make decisions regardless of what your primary responsibilities may be, innovation and collaboration will be at the core of everything you do. Help is never far away in our open culture, you will find support in your team and from across the business, we are in this together!

The way to thrive and shine within Starling is to be a self driven individual and be able to take full ownership of everything around you: From building things, designing, discovering, to sharing knowledge with your colleagues and making sure all processes are efficient and productive to deliver the best possible results for our customers. Our purpose is underpinned by five Starling values: Listen, Keep It Simple, Do The Right Thing, Own It, and Aim For Greatness.

Hybrid Working

We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Starling - our preference is that you’re located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we’re able to interact and collaborate in person.

Our Data Environment

Our Data teams are aligned to divisions covering the following Banking Services & Products, Customer Identity & Financial Crime and Data & ML Engineering. Our Data teams are excited about delivering meaningful and impactful insights to both the business and more importantly our customers. Hear from the team in our latest blogs or our case studies with Women in Tech.

About the Role

The ML Projects team is at the forefront of bringing cutting edge machine learning to the core of what we do at Starling. As a software engineer on the ML Projects team you will work with other engineers and data scientists to design, implement and maintain features that make use of machine learning models under the hood. This could mean anything from creating a brand new ML powered feature from scratch to seamlessly integrating a new model into our core banking platform. You might find yourself designing robust infrastructure and pipelines or discovering a completely new approach to a complex problem.

We believe in empowering our engineers to take ownership and drive solutions from ideation to launch. This means you’ll have the autonomy to shape your own path, identify challenges, and collaborate with colleagues across teams to deliver impactful solutions across a range of technologies.

We’re looking for a skilled software engineer who thrives on building and scaling complex systems. You should have a proven track record of delivering robust, multi technology applications within an enterprise environment.

We’re open minded when it comes to hiring and we care more about aptitude and attitude than specific qualifications. We are very open about how we deliver software. We believe in clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing and continuous deployment. If you care enough to find elegant solutions to difficult technical problems, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Postgres and SQL
  • AWS & GCP - we’re cloud native
  • TeamCity for CI / CD (lots of teams are releasing code 15-20 times per day!)

Interview Process

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! About Us

You may be put off applying for a role because you don’t tick every box. Forget that! While we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we’re always open to discussion. So, if you’re excited about working with us, but aren’t sure if you’re 100% there yet, get in touch anyway. We’re on a mission to radically reshape banking - and that starts with our brilliant team. Senior Software Engineer, Content Agent
Sanity CMS
London

Senior
Private salary
RECENTLY POSTED

We’re hiring a senior engineer for Content Agent - Sanity’s operations layer for structured content. It’s the system that turns content work (bulk edits, audits, translation, publishing) into things an agent can actually run. It lives in Dashboard, Studio, Slack, and behind a headless API. If you’ve spent time on AI systems that have to hold up for real users, not just in a demo, read on.

At Sanity, we build an AI-powered content operating system that lets teams model, create, and automate content the way their business actually runs. SKIMS, Figma, Riot Games, Anthropic, COMPLEX, Nordstrom, and Morningbrew run their content operations on it.

Content Agent is the part of the product that understands structured content - schemas, references, field types, validation rules - and can be trusted to operate on it correctly. You’d be doing full-stack product work in TypeScript and React: MCP tools and integrations, agent orchestration, system prompts, evals to make the whole thing more reliable. Engineers on this team own their domain and work closely with product on what gets built next.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver full stack product work: design and build React interfaces in Dashboards, APIs, and backend services.
  • Develop MCP tools and integrations that extend what the agent can do.
  • Implement agent loops - the orchestration logic that decides what the agent does, in what order, and when to bring a human in.
  • Create and maintain system prompts as engineering artifacts.
  • Run evaluations and experiments to measure and improve reliability in real usage.
  • Utilize GROQ, Sanity’s content query language, to give the agent a deep understanding of structured content.
  • Shape the evolution of Content Agent with product and design, balancing innovation and practical constraints.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, comfortable across the stack (frontend, APIs, backend).
  • Experience shipping LLM based systems in production.
  • System thinking mindset: analyse user intent, edge cases, failure modes, and architecture decisions for new agent capabilities.
  • Strong written communication for crafting clear agent instructions and system prompts.
  • Comfortable with probabilistic systems and data driven experiments; ability to read statistical results and iterate on aggregates.
  • Real experience with or strong curiosity about MCP, tool use patterns, and agent architectures.
  • High regard for craft in code, writing, and product quality.
  • Non traditional background experience (e.g., writing, interaction design, liberal arts) is encouraged.

Location: London, UK or Oslo, Norway (in office 2-3 days/week)

Sanity.io is an organization that reflects the globally diverse audience that our product serves. We believe that a diversity of perspectives, ideas, and cultures leads to better products and services. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, or gender identity.

  • MCP tools and integrations that extend what the agent can do.
  • Agent loops: the orchestration logic that decides what the agent does, in what order, and when to bring a human in.
  • System prompts. We treat these as real engineering artifacts, not a note at the top of a file.
  • Evals and experiments to measure and improve reliability in real usage.
  • GROQ, Sanity’s content query language - using it to give the agent a deep understanding of structured content.
  • Shaping what Content Agent becomes, with product and design. There’s a lot of latitude here.

About you:

  • Location: London, UK or Oslo, Norway (in-office 2-3 days/week)
  • Strong TypeScript and React, comfortable across the stack (frontend, APIs, backend). You don’t want to be boxed into one layer.
  • You’ve shipped LLM-based systems in production. You know the hard part isn’t getting a model to do something once; it’s getting it to do the right thing for every user who shows up.
  • You think in systems. Given a new agent capability, you think through user intent, edge cases, failure modes, and what that means for the architecture: what the agent knows, what tools it has, when it escalates.
  • You write well and you care about why one phrasing works where another doesn’t. An agent’s instructions are prose running on a system that reads literally. Writing them well takes a feel for how language lands, not just what it says - who “you” refers to, what’s implied versus explicit, how a sentence will actually be parsed.
  • You’re comfortable with probabilistic systems. Improving an LLM product means running experiments, designing evals, reading results statistically, and not chasing individual failures when the aggregate trend is what matters. You’ve moved past “it compiles or it doesn’t.”
  • Real experience with, or real curiosity about, MCP, tool-use patterns, and agent architectures.
  • You care about craft in code, in writing, and in the products you ship.

Nobody checks every box. We’re especially interested in people from non-traditional backgrounds - writing, interaction design, liberal arts - who’ve built real engineering skills on top. Some of the best agent work we’ve seen comes from people who understand language and how people actually work, not just systems architecture. If this sounds like you, send something in.

What we can offer:

  • A highly-skilled, inspiring, and supportive team
  • Positive, flexible, and trust-based work environment that encourages long-term professional and personal growth
  • A global, multi-culturally diverse group of colleagues and customers
  • Comprehensive health plans and perks
  • A healthy work-life balance that accommodates individual and family needs
  • Competitive stock options program and location-based salary

Who we are:

Sanity.io is a modern, flexible content operating system that replaces rigid legacy content management systems. One of our big differentiators is treating content as data so that it can be stored in a single source of truth, but seamlessly adapted and personalized for any channel without extra effort. Forward-thinking companies choose Sanity because they can create tailored content authoring experiences, customized workflows, and content models that reflect their business.

Sanity recently raised a $85m Series C led by GP Bullhound and is also backed by leading investors like ICONIQ Growth, Threshold Ventures, Heavybit and Shopify, as well as founders of companies like Vercel, WPEngine, Twitter, Mux, Netlify and Heroku. About Dynamo AI

Dynamo AI is building the future of trustworthy AI for the enterprise. Our platform provides real-time guardrails, red-teaming, and observability for generative and agentic AI systems-ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable deployments across regulated sectors such as financial services, insurance, healthcare and government.

We’re backed by leading partners and rapidly expanding with some of the world’s most sophisticated enterprises. Our products are in production at some of the largest institutions in the world (including Intel, Lenovo, Experian, and the US Army), actively unlocking AI deployments. We’re well recognized and well funded (>$30M raised), with offices in NYC, SF, Bangalore, and a European office planned to open soon.

The Agentic Security Team builds the product and infrastructure behind Agent Warden - a security layer for agentic systems that detects risk patterns, enforces guardrails, and gives teams visibility into what their AI agents are actually doing. We ship backend services, frontend dashboards, CLI tools, and the deployment infrastructure that runs them. We work in tight loops with the Applied Research team, turning their insights into production systems. You can see what we’re building here.

You’ll build and own the production systems behind Agent Warden - the backend services, frontend dashboards, CLIs, and deployment infrastructure that make the product work end-to-end. You’ll ship features fast, keep things simple, and make the systems reliable enough for enterprise customers to depend on. You can see what we’re building here.

This is a full stack, backend heavy role with a strong agentic development philosophy. We develop using AI-assisted workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, agent skills) as a first-class part of how we build software - not as an afterthought. You’ll be expected to be highly productive in this mode of working.

In this role you will:

  • Own end-to-end multiple backend services - APIs, data pipelines, shared libraries, and ML-adjacent packages (Python, FastAPI, NestJS)
  • Build frontend dashboards and UIs with clean DOM rendering, efficient state management, and solid UX principles (React, TypeScript)
  • Design and work with data models and migrations (PostgreSQL), and caching layers (Redis)
  • Contribute to CI/CD and deployment infrastructure (Dockerfiles, Helm charts, GitHub Actions, K8s, AWS) and own release cycles end-to-end - versioning, binary packaging (PyInstaller), and distribution
  • Write and use agent skills, cursor rules, and structured AI-assisted workflows as part of your daily development process
  • Own the quality of what you ship - unit tests, latency tests, performance benchmarks, load tests, and debugging production issues
  • Collaborate closely with the Applied Research team to productionize new capabilities

You might thrive in this role if:

  • You have strong full-stack experience - you’re comfortable building APIs, writing database queries, and shipping React/Next.js UIs
  • You’ve built production services with FastAPI or similar frameworks
  • You understand dependency management and packaging - you’re comfortable with uv , pyproject.toml , editable installs, and managing dependency graphs across shared libraries
  • You’ve owned release cycles end-to-end - versioning, changelogs, binary packaging, and distribution
  • You’re comfortable with infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions, AWS. You don’t need to be a DevOps engineer, but you can read a Helm chart, debug a failed deploy, and add an environment variable without hand-holding
  • You develop using AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) and are productive in agentic workflows - writing skills, using structured prompts, and leveraging AI to move faster. No AI slop.
  • You care about code quality, clear abstractions, and keeping things simple. You prefer explicit over clever.
  • You have working knowledge of Git and are comfortable with trunk-based development, rebasing, and clean commit hygiene
  • You’re comfortable working in ambiguity - requirements change fast, priorities shift, and you’re proactive about figuring things out rather than waiting for direction
  • You communicate clearly and can own a feature end-to-end - from understanding the requirement to deploying it

Nice to have:

  • Experience building CLIs with clean argument parsing, help text, and user-friendly error handling
  • Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP), have built MCP servers/clients, and understand how LLMs invoke tools and interact with external systems
  • Experience with Redis Streams, event-driven architectures, or real-time data pipelines
  • Experience with ArgoCD, GitOps workflows, or managing multi-environment deployments
  • Interest in AI security - understanding how agentic systems can be exploited and how to defend against it

What we offer

  • Competitive salary + equity, so you share in the company’s upside
  • Work at the forefront of AI security, helping define a new category
  • Remote-friendly, with a preference for candidates based in Amsterdam, Paris, Poland, New York, or San Francisco
  • Fully funded team retreats every 8 weeks
  • Health insurance allowance for you and your dependents
  • Wellbeing, learning, and home office allowances (to support health, growth, and your setup)

Opportunity

This is your chance to build the foundational systems for ‘Citi Assist’, a Generative AI assistant that will reach every Citi employee globally. You’ll join us on the ground floor, becoming a core builder on a high-visibility platform that sets the standard for how a global bank adopts this technology safely and at scale.

Here’s what makes this role unique: we know that data is the key to building a successful, safe, and scalable generative AI assistant. The difference between a good AI product and a great one isn’t just the model-it’s the testing, evaluation, and feedback loops that make it better every day.

As a data-focused full-stack engineer, you’ll help us craft the tools and systems that let us understand how Assist is performing, where it’s succeeding, and where it needs to improve. You’ll work across the stack, building everything from intuitive dashboards that surface insights to robust backend pipelines that process evaluation data at scale.

What you’ll do

Build the tools that make Assist great. You’ll design and build the testing, evaluation, and feedback systems that help us understand how our AI assistant is performing in the real world. This means creating tools for both our team and our users to provide feedback, analyse interactions, and measure quality.

Work with data across the full stack. You’ll build data pipelines that collect and process evaluation metrics, create visualisations that surface insights to the team, and design APIs that power our testing infrastructure. You’ll be equally comfortable writing SQL queries as you are building React components.

Own your features end to end. You’ll take responsibility from conception to production. That means understanding the problem we’re trying to solve, designing the right solution, building it, and measuring whether it’s working. You’ll drive your work forward with autonomy while keeping the team aligned.

Build with safety and quality in mind. For us, building safe, sound, and compliant systems is non-negotiable. You’ll help us establish the data practices and evaluation frameworks that ensure Assist meets our high standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Set the technical direction. As a VP-level engineer, we expect you to influence how we approach problems. You’ll mentor other engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and help establish best practices for how we work with data across the platform.

Be a great teammate. We expect you to be a leader in our engineering culture. That means offering thoughtful code reviews, unblocking your peers, sharing what you learn, and helping raise the bar for the whole team. We succeed together.

Skills & experience

  • Strong experience building and deploying production applications across the full stack
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, including Python and TypeScript/JavaScript (experience with Go or Java is a plus)
  • Deep experience working with data-whether that’s building data pipelines, designing analytics systems, or creating data-driven products
  • Experience building user-facing features with modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases like Postgres
  • Experience building backend services and APIs that handle data at scale
  • Comfort with containerised environments and cloud infrastructure (we use OpenShift/Kubernetes)
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and automation
  • Experience with data visualisation tools and techniques

What matters most to us

A data-driven mindset. You believe that good data and rigorous evaluation are essential to building great products. You know how to instrument systems to collect the right data and how to turn that data into actionable insights.

A solutions-first approach. You find the best path to solve the problem, whether that’s building new infrastructure, leveraging existing tools, or changing how we think about the problem entirely. You’re pragmatic about trade-offs.

Technical leadership. You have strong opinions, loosely held. You can articulate your technical vision and bring others along with you, but you’re also open to being wrong and learning from your peers.

A focus on impact. You understand that our goal is to deliver value to users and make Assist better every day. You know when to move fast and when to invest in building things properly.

Clear communication and ownership. You take initiative, communicate proactively, and take responsibility for outcomes. You don’t wait for permission, but you keep stakeholders informed.

A collaborative spirit. You thrive in team environments where you can learn from others and help them grow. You see mentoring and knowledge-sharing as part of your role.

Bonus points for

  • Direct experience building evaluation or testing frameworks for AI/ML systems
  • Experience with LLM evaluation techniques, prompt engineering, or AI safety concepts
  • Experience with data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or similar
  • Experience with analytics platforms, experimentation frameworks, or A/B testing infrastructure
  • Background in data science, analytics engineering, or similar data-focused roles
  • Contributions to open-source projects in the data or AI space
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments

Our tech stack

We work with Python, TypeScript, Go, and Java on the backend. Our frontend is built with TypeScript, React, and Next.js. We use Postgres for our database, run everything on Kubernetes (specifically Red Hat OpenShift), and our DevOps setup includes GitHub and CI/CD tools like Tekton and Harness.

Our team and mission

We’re the Common Platform Engineering team for GenAI, a central group in the Chief Technology Office. We’re a focused agile team that owns our work from idea to production. Our culture is built on a shared belief in engineering craftsmanship, backed by leadership that actually understands what that means. We’re on a journey to prove what’s possible inside a large organisation, and that means navigating some legacy while building the future. This isn’t a role for someone who wants everything to be perfect on day one. It’s for an engineer who wants to help us get there, influencing how we solve problems and raising our collective bar.

We have a dual mission. First, we’re building ‘Citi Assist’, the GenAI digital assistant for our colleagues. Second, we’re providing the platforms and guidance that enable the entire organisation to adopt GenAI safely and effectively.

This is not a typical banking job. You’ll build foundational technology that has a direct, positive impact on hundreds of thousands of people. You’ll have the executive support to tackle big problems and real autonomy to shape our solutions. Most importantly, you’ll join a passionate, collaborative team where we all learn from each other and push each other to do our best work.

What we’ll provide you

This is a unique role that will put you in the position to be part of a new venture and actively drive change. Every day there will be new challenges that will help you develop new skills that can drive your career.

By joining Citi London, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed), and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits such as:

  • 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
  • A discretionary annual performance-related bonus
  • Private Medical Care & Life Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Pension Plan
