Introduction

We are looking for a new systems engineer for our technology operations change team. The role is responsible for actively contributing technical expertise to technology projects into the organisation and at times leading small changes.

You will work alongside our architects, testers, project and product managers, and other engineers to research, design and deliver technology solutions culminating in a handover to our live operations team.

What’s the role about?

• As an engineer in our technology operations change team, you will take on a variety of tasks, from designing and planning solutions to meet user requirements through to managing software and hardware rollouts and documentation. You will also work as part of a larger team to bring organisation wide projects to completion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important in this role as you work with a range of technical and non-technical audiences. The ability to gather and analyse requirements is key as you work to select appropriate solutions and then go onto deliver them.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Proven experience in a networking/IT environment and a good understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience of supporting and maintaining systems in a Microsoft client/server environment. You will have sound knowledge of MS operating systems and the assorted services that a typical domain uses (DNS, Active Directory, SCCM, DHCP, Group Policy etc).
• Experience across a range of infrastructure technologies such as VMWare ESX, Hyper-V, Aruba, Microsoft clustering, SAN technologies.

Skills and Capability requirements: \* 6+ years of experience with ETL, data pipelines, and data warehouse production environments. \* Strong expertise in troubleshooting ETL/ELT processes using tools such as Matillion, Informatica, ODI, or SSIS. \* Experience in cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake. \* Proven ability to analyze job failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes. \* Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools. \* Familiarity with incidents, problem, and change management processes in ITIL-based environments. \* Strong SQL programming and debugging skills with relational and cloud databases. \* Experience with traditional and non-traditional forms of analytical data design (Kimbal, Inmon etc) \* Excellent communication skills to interact with business users, analysts, and cross-functional technical teams.
