Fire and Security Engineer

Experienced Fire and Security systems service engineers are required. The role involves the planned preventive and reactive maintenance tasks associated with both fire and security alarm systems, CCTV & access control equipment.

Work is predominantly carried out as an individual and occasionally in a team depending on the site and task. In-house training will be provided where required in fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control and CCTV systems.

You would be joining a family run company thats been in business for 39 years. We have a good management structure and a team of around 40 people. Although this position is field based, you will be in regular contact with other members of staff and at times work with them on site.

Opportunities to travel in the UK are not uncommon and are fully expensed. There may be opportunities to travel overseas. You will after a period of around 6 months be expected to take part in our on-call rota. This is currently running at 1 week in 10 for which an on call allowance is paid and any actual call out attendance is paid for on an hourly basis. Overtime is available and may be part of your weekly plan of work.

A company vehicle would be provided, fully expensed, full PPE and necessary training, tablet computer (primarily for work-flow management), mobile telephone, company credit card for all company expenses, uniform (we supply shirts, sweat shirts and jackets) with an allowance to buy trousers and safety footwear. • Conduct vulnerability scans with Qualys, analyse results and prioritise remediation
• Document SecOps processes and create knowledge base articles in line with best practices
• Automate security tasks and toolchains using scripting (PowerShell, Batch, etc.)
• Collaborate with external SOC teams
• Prepare post-incident reports and root cause analyses
• Manage end-user device (EUD) security via MS Intune, Sophos and NinjaOne
• Schedule and assess vulnerability scans on critical infrastructure
• Maintain patching compliance for OS, Microsoft Office and third-party applications
• Support infrastructure teams to deploy systems, enhance security policies and manage security-driven changes
• Produce weekly security operations reports
• Manage Cisco Umbrella web filtering and SSL inspection policies

Requirements:

• Previous hands-on experience in SecOps or Incident Response
• Recognised Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or Microsoft security certifications
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS security and hardening
• Working PowerShell scripting ability for automation tasks
• Solid understanding of cloud-native security across M365, Azure and AWS
• Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure

Any experience with the following will be highly favoured:

• Strong experience with Qualys
• Exposure to Varonis
• Network security knowledge or relevant certifications (TCP/IP, VPNs, routing, segmentation)
• Experience working with ServiceNow

We’re looking for an experienced Azure Controls & Audit Specialist to join the Public Cloud Engineering team on an initial 6-month contract. This role is critical in supporting an Azure-based environment through a period of increased audit activity, including upcoming EDA Gold DEV.

Key Responsibilities:
