Description

As Black & White Engineering continues to expand its specialist data-centre acoustics team, we are seeking a dedicated Acoustic Engineer or Graduate Acoustic Engineer to support projects across the UK, Europe, and worldwide.

This role offers genuine autonomy, early technical responsibility, and the opportunity to influence noise-critical design decisions on some of the most advanced digital-infrastructure developments globally.

What’s in It For You

Early Technical Responsibility – From the outset, you’ll be trusted to contribute meaningfully to environmental noise assessments, modelling, and reporting, supporting planning, design, and delivery on complex data centre projects.

Autonomy with Expert Support – Reporting into the Lead Acoustic Engineer, you’ll have the freedom to own technical outputs while benefiting from close mentorship, guidance, and structured technical review.

Exposure to Global Data Centre Projects – You’ll work on large-scale, high-impact developments across multiple regions, gaining experience with differing international standards, planning regimes, and noise-sensitive environments.

Influence on Noise-Critical Design – Your work will directly inform engineering decisions around plant selection, layout, and mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance without compromising operational or energy performance.

Specialist Technical Growth – You’ll continue developing expertise in environmental acoustics, modelling methodologies, and international standards, positioning yourself for progression into senior or specialist acoustic roles within the business.

Values-Driven Culture – Join a collaborative environment built on Accountability, Integrity, Simplicity, and Supportiveness, where technical excellence and professional development are actively encouraged.

  • Experience with acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, INSUL, or similar
  • Understanding of international noise standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting

Desirable / Advantageous:

  • Experience with GIS platforms (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis and environmental assessment
