An ideal SAP Basis Support Engineer is a technically strong systems administrator with expertise in SAP landscapes (S/4HANA, NetWeaver, HANA DB, Sybase ASE), strong database and OS administration skills, and a deep understanding of system copies, transports, upgrades, and security.
They must excel in troubleshooting, monitoring, and incident management, while ensuring compliance and system resilience. Strong soft skills (communication, documentation, teamwork) are as critical as technical expertise.
Future-ready engineers should also develop cloud administration, automation, and S/4HANA migration skills to support digital transformation initiatives.
