Senior Go Engineer - Cybersecurity | Belfast (Hybrid)

We’re working with a fast-growing cybersecurity company that’s scaling its engineering team in Belfast. They’re doing serious work - cloud-native security infrastructure, real-time threat detection, the kind of problems that keep you sharp. Go is at the core of their stack and they need someone who knows it well.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building high-performance backend services in Go across a cloud-native security platform
• Taking ownership of core components - from architecture decisions through to production
• Working closely with security and infrastructure teams to solve genuinely complex technical problems
• Contributing to code quality, reviews, and engineering standards across the team
• Helping shape how the engineering function grows - this is a team that values technical input

What they’re looking for

• Strong, production-grade Go experience - you’ve built and shipped real systems with it
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Comfortable working at scale with high-throughput, low-latency requirements
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Someone who takes ownership and communicates well - no passengers here

Nice to have

• Background in cybersecurity, cloud security, or infrastructure tooling
• Experience with streaming technologies or event-driven architectures
• Contributions to open source Go projects
