12 Month Contract
Based: Christchurch
Hourly Rate: £60.63 Paye or £81.90 umbrella inside IR35
37 Hours per week
Onsite Monday – Friday

Overview
BAE Systems is seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer – Risk & Assurance to join our growing team in Christchurch. This is an exciting opportunity to support critical Ministry of Defence (MoD) programmes within a long-established, high-performing team of over 45 engineers and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Support projects in understanding and managing cyber security risk
• Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to design secure systems and implement effective security controls
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
• Identify risks and support assurance/accreditation activities within the UK defence domain
• Provide cyber security advice to internal stakeholders and customers
• Ensure compliance with frameworks such as the NIST Risk Management Framework and Cyber Security Framework
• Participate in or plan CHECK/penetration testing activities
• Stay current with evolving cyber security threats, trends, and technologies
• Occasionally travel to customer sites for meetings and investigations

Skills & Experience

• Experience working with MoD policies (e.g. JSP440) and familiarity with NCSC guidance
• Experience supporting Secure by Design (SbD) projects
• Strong understanding of security risk assessment and control frameworks
• Experience applying security architecture principles in complex systems

BPSS with SC – DV required once in role – Subject to ITAR
