Supportability Engineer Defence & Security | Land Systems A specialist engineering organisation operating within the Defence & Security sector is seeking an experienced Supportability Engineer to support the delivery of military land equipment programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly capable engineering team working on complex, safety?critical systems for UK and international defence customers. Role Overview The Supportability Engineer will contribute to the delivery of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) solutions across the full equipment lifecycle. Working closely with multi?disciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders, you will help ensure that products are supportable, maintainable and sustainable in service. Key Responsibilities Contribute to design reviews to ensure equipment is supportable and maintainable throughout its lifecycle
Conduct Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Ease of Maintenance Assessment (EMA) and Levels of Repair Analysis (LORA)
Identify and define maintenance processes, procedures and support resource requirements (spares, tools, test equipment, facilities, training, codification, etc.)
Collate and manage logistic support information to develop robust Logistic Breakdown Structures (LBS)
Develop, manage and review military technical publications (e.g. AESP, IETP) to required standards
Ensure accuracy, configuration control and timely delivery of maintenance and support documentation
Support logistic demonstrations, equipment trials and post?activity reporting
Support in?service equipment and introduction?into?service activities where the organisation is Design Authority
Assist with the management and resolution of obsolescence issuesEssential Skills & Experience Proven experience or qualifications in Equipment Supportability and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineering
Ability to work autonomously, applying sound engineering judgement with high attention to detail
Experience working within military equipment support environments and processes
Working knowledge of DefStan 00?601 and/or ASD S1000D and STE?100
Experience supporting or managing technical publications to military standards
Confident, articulate communicator with strong written and verbal skills and customer?facing experience
Ability to review, comment on and manage technical data in line with defence standards
Advanced user of MS Word and Excel
Full UK driving licenceDesirable ONC / HNC / Level 3 or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
Practical experience of LORA, EMA and other supportability techniques
Experience supporting logistic demonstrations or trials
Working knowledge of MS Project and/or MS PlannerUseful Experience Knowledge of military recovery vehicles, specialty vehicles, winches, cranes, or wheeled/tracked platforms
Background in vehicle or equipment maintenance and repairRole Details Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: 32?hour week (Monday to Thursday)
